Cambodian Ban on Foreign marriages. UPDATE!!

For the past year, the Cambodian government has had an ongoing ban on marriage to foreigners. It's been debated within the Khmer government many times with no resolution to date. But today, my fiancee had an interview at the US Phnom Penh embassy and she was APPROVED for our K-1 visa!! My fiancee said that she understood while there that they are still approving visas, but only at the interviewers decretion and maybe only a very few who have a lot of proof.

For those who have pending k-1 visa petitions with the US Cambodian embassy, there's still hope!

congratulations!!! I read in the Phnom Penh Post about a month or so ago that the ban was lifted. They were looking at marrige brokers from south korea and taiwan! found no wrong doing, lifted ban. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEW LIVES TOGETHER!!!
