Sturdy Balikbayan Box

I am already in the process of fixing my stuff for my departure to US. Just like any other pinoys out there, i would rather pack my things that can fit in balikbayan boxes. Buy any balikbayan box and buy some strong tape too.

You can try using the balikbayan box cover which you can buy in any SM stores. I used one to hold the balikbayan box I brought with me last week and it was sturdy enough to make it through here in the US holding all the stuff I hauled from the Philippines It was easier to handle too since they have built-in wheels. Have a safe trip!!!

You can get balikbayan boxes at any Handyman store or True Value or SM Hardware or any Do-it-yourself shop.

I got mine for 99 pesos (white), the brown one is 79 pesos. I dont know why I chose white when it is just the same with the brown one. The size is 20x20x20, total linear is 60 inches. I bought the black cover for 400 pesos (it was on sale). The night before my flight, I ran out of duct tape. My Dad said no need to seal my box with duct tape as the black cover will hold it. I had a 24-hour flight and it my box was still ok when I got it from the carousel.

By the way, you may want to buy the 18x18x18 size. My baggage weighed 65 lbs when the box was filled up.

ACE store is selling two type of balikbayan box, standard and heavy duty(?). Then you could buy the balikbayan bag to hold your balikbayan box.

Boxes rate are from 80 - 130. Balikbayan bag rates are from 600 - 1500. You just choose.

For additional security.. i told the airline to put "FRAGILE" sticker on my balikbayan box.

ahhhh i see... balikbayan box is more better than a luggage..
