Neither they are both the same if they go to the same service center and same USCIS office.

It is the service center and the USCIS office, neither of which you have a choice in, which have differing processing times.

Processing speed is no different from another.

Even though you opt for 5 year green card basis, you may still have to submit the info for your marriage if you get the green card through the marriage, and married with same person.

So if you receive the green card through the marriage to US citizen, 3 year marriage basis will be get you US citizenship faster because you can apply 2 year eariler than 5 year green card basis.

As we well know, filing under marriage requires a ton of evidence and if you do not send in a ton of it, can get delays for a request for more evidence. But it's suppose to be first in and first out. If you make one error or omission, you go to the rear of the line, or send in a perfect application and the USCIS misplaces or miss directs your application that also puts you at the end of the line. Your country of origin may also cause excessive delays.

I see that us old Nebraska filers have been switched to Arizona, that may cause delays if your application was originally sent to Nebraska. Sure caused delays when Nebraska I-751 filers have been switched to California.

Filing a proper application with all the required evidence is your responsibility, the rest is all pure luck.

Know I would go nuts working for the USCIS looking at the same forms and evidence day in and day out. We took extra pains with lots of colored copies, highlighted all the pertinent information on our evidence, very well organized, and even tried to make it look entertaining. It worked for us and fortunately, our application was not lost or misplaced. Hope the person that looked at our application appreciated that.

Because I have seen some N400 application filers are done from 3-4 months only. And some are 6-9 months. Maybe it may also depends on the service centers.

There are many variables that could effect the outcome of your file. There's always the good ole FBI name check that can take forever!! Good luck with your process.

I think the important word in moonhunt's comment is "MAY" - you are not required to submit this information, but, I guess in an extreme case the USCIS MAY choose to request some info from you. There might be some anectdotal stories on this board where info has been requested.
