Issue with IV Bill

Hello guys,

I just had my DS3032 accepted today and I checked out my IV bill online and it says $400. I already paid $355 when I send in my i130 to USCIS. I tried calling NVC a few times today, but they have a high call ratio right now. I don't think I have a copy of the money order I sent to them.

What do you guys suggest? Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi,

The $400 bill is IN ADDITION to the $355 paid when sending the I-130. You will have to pay it if you want the NVC to process the immigrants documents.

$355 you paid with I-130 was application fee. $400 is Immigrant Visa fee that you have to pay in order to proceed further with your NVC process.

The $355 was for USCIS processing of an I-130 petition, the $400 is for Department of State and consulate processing for the Immigrant visa. Two different departments of the government and for 2 different things.

K-3:

I-130: $355

I-129F: NONE

Consulate: $131

AOS: $1010

I-130: $355

NVC I-864: $70

NVC Visa fee: $400 ($355+$45)

On a different note, I was looking through what documents I need to send for DS230. I just paid IV bill and waiting on it to show PAID. I will then send DS230 right away (James's Shortcuts) as it will probably take a long time for their mail to come through the snail mail. I just wanted to confirm something:

I need to send in DS230 I & II and all the documents listed on Instructions NVC site. However, I am afraid that when my wife sends the original documents from Bangladesh, it might get misplaced, and so is it ok for me to give them certified copies of everything (birth certificate, police certificate, marriage documents)?

Yes, they will accept the certified copies NOT notarized copies.

We have the same problem with mail in Peru. You send something in the mail there and it never gets to its destination. Letters sent to Peru sometimes arrive. I sent all of my papers through American mail services such as UPS and DHL and had no problems.
