Are you sure that they have reviewed the DS-230. Many have been getting RFE's re the DS-230. In fact, we got one saying there was info missing and when I spoke to the operator she told me that the DS-230 was missing. We had not even sent it yet!!! If there is a long space between sending the I-864 and DS-230 this is often generated. On the other hand, if you know FOR SURE it's after reviewing the DS-230 the operator should be able to tell you something about what is missing. What I don't understand is if the operator said they are still reviewing your DS-230, how can there already be a RFE?? Maybe try calling another operator and see if you get any more details? Good luck!

I think everyone here sends a letter of employment whenever possible. We sent a letter from the Veterans' Affairs explaining petitioner's unemployment and pension status. :)

Just wasted a phone card checking if the AVR updated and it didn't. Didn't have enough to call again and try operator. But we got the Cover Sheets and receipt numbers for both the AOS and IV. Just waiting for something in the mail (any day now) and the IV package is off as well.

Does anyone have an idea how much it costs to overnight a package to NVC from a Far-eastern or Southeast-Asian country like Thailand or the Philippines? MailBoxesEtc. won't give the rates until after it's weighed. DHL? FedEx?

Hoping and praying for sonia and all of us!

AO it should run around 2000-3000 pesos using DHL

I know I have sent all the docs properly and presented all the geniun documents..about the DS 230 forms, I filled up the form, my dad cross checked and then my husband....I don't know what to do...

1.Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (NVC Case Number, Beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both)

2.DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary

3.DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary – unsigned, as of yet, per instruction

4.Photocopy of the Biographic Data Pages of Beneficiary’s New Passport

5.Original copy of Birth Certificate

6.Original Marriage Certificate and Nikah Nama (Bengali and English version) duly Authenticated by the Notary Public

7.Original Divorce Certificate and Talak Nama (Bengali and English version) duly Authenticated by the Notary Public

8.Original copy Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) executed by the Ramna Model Police Station Dhaka, issued in pursuance of the Ministry of Home Affairs and duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Government of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh

Am I missing something?

Sonia

Sonia, did you send along with those originals you listed a photo copy as well of all the documents? You are required per the instructions to have original AND photo copy of all requested documents. That would be all i can see might be a problem.

MMW, thanks. That's quite a bit. :D

Now I got my NBI Clearance AND THERE IS NO THUMB PRINT! *arrggghhh* I am in Thailand. How do I get my thumb print on that? Did they leave it empty because the person is supposed to get fingerprinted for the certificate in person? Do I go to the Philippine embassy for this?

Question MMW: When they gave you your NBI Clearance, did they grab your right thumb, smeared it on the ink pad and rolled it over a blank square in the green paper? If so then that explains why I got mine blank. So did gennyangel in another thread I made.

Sonia, did you include the Cover Sheets in the DS-230? If so, it could just be the DS-230 arrived before the AOS, or the other way around, and somebody just flagged it for an RFE. I've heard it happen before. Let's hope for the best!

Yes, my wife was fingerprinted when she got it but if you got yours by mail then hopefully the seal will be enough.

If it is not too much trouble to go to the Embassy i would suggest you do that better to be safe than sorry. Chances are they will just do it there.

Well our 2 packets officially hit the system on the 23rd so I will updat when we get case complete. I'll be checking daily but my question is do I need to ask for a supervisor to get that info or is just the operator good enough?

Do you have to talk to an operator to make sure they received the packet and that it has been reviewed. We sent in AOS packet, and it was delivered yesterday but now how do I figure out its okay - received and meets criteria. Can I check it online where I paid the bills?

Now that I've sent off my AOS packet, I'm wondering did everyone include a letter from their employer? I didn't, my transcripts and return are pretty well above the poverty line and its been steady in the past. I really didn't want to involve my employer and have to let them know the immigration process my family is going through. I hope I dont get an RFE for that.

We did not include a letter from my husband's employer either (same reason as you have stated) and we were fine.

Hi All,

we are really frustrated...Finally we got an RFE on DS 230 in AVR ... which says Missing/incomplete DS 230 after reviewing... I am almost crying...don't know what to do...No operators could tell us about the detail on the RFE as they are saying they are still reviewing our DS 230.... One of the operator also mentioned to disregard the RFE if we have already sent DS 230...then why is this RFE for?

Please need help guys, we called NVC several times....Good thing is they have already accepted our AOS packet...

Thank you.

Sonia

Sonia. Try not to worry. As A & M says it is most likely a false RFE. Seems to be pretty common when they receive the I-864 separately from the DS-230. I'm sure you will be getting a "case complete" soon.

Do you have to talk to an operator to make sure they received the packet and that it has been reviewed. We sent in AOS packet, and it was delivered yesterday but now how do I figure out its okay - received and meets criteria. Can I check it online where I paid the bills?

Just keep calling them and the operator should be able to give you that status of your case. If it is under review that means they are still working on it.

Good luck everyone. Let's hope everyone gets a quick completion

Hey, folks! Do you put the beneficiary's name on the back of each 2x2 photo that is sent along with the DS-230 packet?

I put my NVC case#, full name and DOB very lightly in pencil, placed both photos in a labelled ziploc baggie and attached by paperclip to the forms. Others have had success using a fine felt-tip pen but make sure it dries completely so it does not smear. Write very gently on the back regardless of what you use. Good luck

You're just foolproof, OBX! :D As in, can't be fooled. Thank you. That's what I did.

We're getting my PCC marked with my thumb print tomorrow and then the IV package is off!

Well thank you Lord, Just got off the phone with NVC, the operator told me all our documents are reviewed and accepted and we will have our case complete status by the end of their business day today. So OBX guess we are 3-4 days to case complete from scanned in.
