I thought ( or it was my understanding) that it depends on the country of the beneficiary on how long it takes after the interview.... hmmmmm

I know I have a long road ahead of me. I still have to wait to file the I-601 at the interview. Maybe they will approve an expedite then.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Are you sure you cannot file it now? My friend that filed it, I checked with her. She filed that and it took exactly 2 years before they gave an answer. In the mean time she filed the I-130 also. They just gave her husband an interview date for Feb. So make sure you aren't losing time. Check with the lawyer!!! Her lawyer said that if they say okay to the I-601 then the I-130 will automatically be finished and he can come immediately on a CR-1. She said if they deny the I-601 then basically it's over. Please, check with your lawyer!!!

Yes, I used to work in a children's hospital where we were giving free medication left and right to illegals that had no way of paying for healthcare. Young moms would cross the border from Mexico, give birth and then the infant USC was eligible to "petition" their mother...so the mom got to stay in the US for good. Go figure!!! I wish now more than ever that I just let my husband come on VWP and just go to Canada or Mexico every 3 months. His brothers own their own businesses, he could have worked for them. But noooooo...we do everything the right way, moral way, and legal way. That's why I'll be celebrating our second anniversary before he's even here  #######...and I was doing so good not complaining!!!

I've been crying all day over Lisa's AP. If they got one, then for sure my husband and I will get AP too

Thanks Narina,

I just e-mailed him and asked all kinds of questions.

I told him he better call me in Costa Rica if an approval comes threw when I am with my husband.

I might not be able to tap into the internet while im there.

I'm trying to be hopeful about the waiver. If I can get an expedite I have read where cases were approved in 2 months.

But the case gets processed in Honduras. YIKES.

its very hard to be positive.

Today was not a good day for me emotionally. I cried all day. Even my husband was like, "What's the matter? Why are you so sad today? Did something upset you?" Yeah, something upsets me every day...being apart from the man I love!!!

Well there really, truly, is nothing we can do. I mean, if there was something we could do, we ALL would have done it! I guess we just wait. :clock::clock::clock:

Narina,

Just because we got stuck doesnt mean you guys will. Someone said their fiance from the UK was stuck in AP at NVC, its not so much where...I think it's random. I do remember reading that NVC preforms their own background checks..I guess they pull randomly to do "further" checks. Yazied isnt a very common name, I hope that helps us out.

I hope none of you guys get the "random" pull into AP there. Desiman has been there for 4 weeks so far in AP. :(

Maybe they pulled all of the mid to late december approvals. The thread started at the beginning of december already has like 30 pages. So, it might balance out...me getting approved a little bit before you guys :) maybe you wont be in an AP batch.

Did i sell you some hope? I hope so :D

Take care everybody and I guess Vermont is still catching up

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I just called USCIS

Got a nice lady on the phone !-130 can take up to 10 to 12 months to process

ooh yes i asked about expedited services and they said due to privacy act I am not aloud to do anything my husband has to give permission or him call

he is the petitioner

Or under 5 months if you filed in August...or under 2 months if you got to file with CSC...or 2 years if they feel like it. There is no rhyme or reason.

Forget co-workers (they all know every detail of my life LOL) I have people in the grocery store, gas station, and bank who are asking if my husband is here yet. I'm like "Nope..." They all ask the same thing, "Isn't there something you can do? Why is it taking so long? I thought if someone married a USC they automatically get to come here." The whole city knows my dilemma. Some of the customs officers at the airport started to recognize me. There are so many stickers on my passport that they don't even question me at Schiphol airport anymore. Even the drug reps ask me, "When are you going to see your husband again? I wanted to make an appointment with you when I know you're definitely going to be here."

The day after Obama won the elections, I was leaving the bank and one of the ladies who I'm friendly with, was with a client. So I waved to her as I was leaving and she said, "Hey honey, how are you?" I gave her 2 thumbs up (because she was an Obama supporter). Right in front of her current clients, she spread her hands on the desk and her draw dropped and she shouted, "Oh my God! He's finally here?" I was like, "Huh?" She said, "You're giving me the thumbs up! Is your husband here? I thought you were trying to tell me he's here!" LOL The couple at her desk turn and look at me. I was like, "No, not yet :( "

It's so sad...the whole world has sympathy, but not USCIS.

Yeah I have the same thing

so yeah I stay home mostly, since don't want to really deal with them or that

but not even then me safe because they will ask my mom and aunts and deliver the info

And yeah Same deal I thought if you get married to US Citizen you go to USA immediatly no problem

DIMAS our version of USCIS in Aruba is well i thought was the worst immigration regs you can deal with

till i met USCIS process head on

funny part Dimas in papiamento means too much

Happy 40th Birthday may Dushi, My Sweetheart My Hubby!  :jest: :jest:

Sorry not there to spend it with you or embarrass you :secret::cry::ph34r::P

Ever drive on a multi-lane highway while heading home and get stuck on a particular lane ? The line of cars ahead of you is so long that you can't really see what is going on. The traffic in all the lanes on either side is whizzing by so fast that you don't have the option to change lanes. Think of the lane you are in as K3 at VSC and the other lanes of course are CSC, K1, stand-alone I-130 transferred to CSC and so on.

What's more just when the cars in your lane start moving and you start hoping that you will be on your merry way soon, they come to a standstill once again and the wait continues for God knows how much longer ...

YEP,

that's exactly it !!

and if you get the chance to switch lanes, the lane you moved to slows down and the lane you came from starts moving at lightning speed.

Lisa, i think this AP at NVC is a trend lately. and it happened right after we started to seemore approvals from USCIS. probably when USCIS wasnt doing their job, NVC was was more relaxed andcould process the cases faster. now they have a igger load and got slower. I mean i dont know whats going on, but this is what Ive noticed. in my case, they never could say anything about my K3 package. I was hoping to get a sooner interview for K3 and switch it to CR1. away went my hopes, as the CR1 case is complete, and about K3 package no one knows anything. didnt hit embassy here, and NVC can't say anything about it. just one time someone there said processing. but that was when we sent package IV for CR1, so didn't matter anymore. I even forgot about the K3. is meaningless history. i know yr opinion about pursuing ony with K3, but I was thinking what would hurt to try go on with both? if K3 starts to move at some point, u can just not send last package for CR1 or somth. but is good to have 2 choices, if yr process been slower for filing for both anyways.

Narina, I know it can be frustrating to wait, i have been waiting for almost 9 months. but in the end, doesnt matter only to be approved faster, but to be approved at the right time too. i was so happy in NOA2 day, but now i see those who got approved at beginning of next year have case complete and wait for february interview sheduling just like me. so didnt make much difference in the big picture. we had everything ready, but was before winter holidays, and things started to move just after new year. in fact i think that if we have had NOA2 after new year too, our K3 file might not be lost in space now, and could have got a better interview date than the one we'll get this way. like this we'll spend first anniversary apart, because he cn't come in february and the nagain in march when we hope for an interview. i think is the same for desiman and Lisa. was approved, but at a bad time. they were still in holidays spirit, and their confusion made things slower in the end ,than a later NOA2 would have done.

I am still around sometimes, but for us is nothing to do anymore, just to wait as our case is complete but missed the january sheduling. so I just log in looking for "approved" thread started by my friends here. chins up, i know when u r close to finish line is the most difficult part, but the u r really closer to the end with every day passing by. u made it so many months, 1-2 more months will go by before u notice. just dont focus on the wait, that makes time slower. don't check USCIS processing times every day. don't check the dates ofthose approved every time u see an approval. u know it doesnt help yr case in way, just makes u frustrate sometimes. focus on somth else,on things u have power over, and this will get solved by itself, without u losing time, energy and joy over it. don't talk to yr husband about processing times, u cant change them, talk about good things, random things, doesnt matter. but ull discover that will charge yr batteries rather than make u feel helpless if u talk of visa process.

enjoy life,

Andreea
