They aren't on hold - they are subject to new security checks on teh USC - no-one knows yet how much delay this may cause.

There's a very long thread in this forum (K1) about info on IMBRA' which you can read. :)

Applied for K1

Met online 2001 - just aquaintances

Sept 2002 - 1st US visit - everything goes perfectly.

Dec 20th - Forms recev'd at CSC

Dec 27th - NOA1 received by snail mail!

Dec 29th - 'Touched'

March 10 2006 - NOA2!

March 23 - recv'd at NVC

March 24 - petition sent to London

April 9th - Pkt 3 rec'd!

May 17th - Pkt 3 signed for at London Embassy

May 24th - Medical

May24th - Pkt 4

June 14th - Interview 10am - APPROVED 1pm!!

June 16th - Visas received in my hot little hands 1pm :)

July 19th - flying to US!

July 27th - Married!! :-)

Aug 7th - Applied for SSN in married name

Aug 9th - SSN received

hELLO EVERYONE.. is it true that all the petitions with receipt date after march 6 are on hold? or the aproval is goin to take longer because of the new law..

I DONT THINK THEY ARE IN HOLD COZ MANY OF THE PETIOTIONERS WHO GOT THERE NOA1 HAS BEEN TOUCHED MANY TIME SO THAT MEAN THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON THEME BY WAY OR OTHER OR AT LEAST THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING BUT NOT FROZE ON DISK....SOON WE WILL HEAR SOME GOOD NEWS ...PLUS FROM 08-JUN 2006 TO 11-JUN-2006 CALIFORNIA DID SEND 4 NOA1 AND 1 NOA2 AND ABOUT 3 HAD THERE INTERVEIW..PEOPLE ARE WORKING MAN :D ...MOST OF THE PEOPLE BEFORE 6 MARS HAD THERE NOA2 AND EVEN ALMOST IN THE INTERVEIW....SO STILL JUST PEOPLE AFTER 3 PARS ....EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE SOON

They are on hold in the respect that nothing can be approved until DHS creates a new form to collect information on the "possible criminal background" of the USC who filed the petition. Since the form has not yet been created and approved, nothing can move forward in terms of approval until this is finished. Right now it's impossible to know when petitioners will receive the new form to fill out but it looks as if they are moving in the right direction and that the form will be provided to the USC some time in the next 30-60 days. That means they can continue working on your petition if you filed after March 6, but that they will get to a point where they cannot proceed until the additional information is provided.
