hi all, im getting ready to send N-400..

Do i need to write puerto rico and U.S virgin islands to Part 7 -Time Outside the United States (Including Trips to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean)

yes they are considered outside united states and not part of the 50 states in US.

i don"t remember exactly when i travelled to puerto rico. it was end of march in 2007 for four days but i don't know remember the date.

what should i do ?

Didn't you get a stamp in your passport when you reentered the U.S.? If you didn't, just enter approximate dates. That's what I had to do with one of my trips.

Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, so it is not an international flight,is a Domestic flight..No immigration or customs no passports going to Puerto Rico.

thats why i'm confused.

DO waht I did for my countless trips to Canada - write that during MM/200z I went to Puerto Rico for 4 days -

I wrote that I went to Canada numerous times during 19xx through 19yy and most of my trips were less than 24 hrs but some were 5 to 7 days. Don't worry about being too accurate - I think that as long as your trips were less than 180 days it doesn't matter. Good Luck

o.k finally i rememeber the dates i visited puerto rico. but i'm still not sure if i need to write puerto rico

I'm not sure if you have to list your travel to Puerto Rico because it seems to me like this time would count as time in the U.S. But if those 4 days don't make a big difference in the time you count for your physical presence, I would probably list them, just to be on the safe side. Of course, if those 4 days make the difference if you are eligible to become a citizen or not, I would doublecheck if you have to list them at all.

I think that's going to be my new phrase this year. If you question it, write it down. It's not going to hurt your application. Good luck with your journey.

i decided not to list puerto rico and US virgin islands.. cause it doesnt make any sense. they are domestic flights. no stamp in my passport

so i'm not listing them
