Congrats!

About the email/update.....I think when I got my NOA2, some other people on that same day got uodates and emails, but some did not and the NOA2 just came later in the mail.

For me, the case status was updated, and it took awhile to get the email. Then the hardcopy NOA2 came a week later in the mail

I'm sorry you are still waiting :( I have seen some more January NOA2s lately, so hopefully yours is coming!

Question for those who are further along in the process..... how long has it taken to get your stuff sent to he NVC, and then to the US Embassy of the fiance's country? Did the fiance already do the medical exam in advance? Has anyone scheduled the interview yet?

I was really hoping for an August wedding (that's when the soon-to-be-in-laws will already be visiting).... although I think we're running out of time to count on my Fiance being present at the wedding (no groom = no wedding)--- there's just too much uncertainty about the rest of the processes. Any suggestions?

Well, I wouldn't completely rule out an August wedding yet. I think people getting approved now will be getting their visas in June, so you've got another month yet.

Though I understand that cutting it THAT close to the wire would make ME sweat bullets!!!

Hoping that your (and all the rest of our) plans don't get ruined by this whole process. I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to plan things properly!!

It took 10 days (I think) for my stuff to get to NVC. It got there on a Friday and left on a Monday. It got to the embassy in 3 days...but that totally depends on how far away the embassy is...According to the dhl.com tracking stuff, it looks like it takes 3 days to get to Sydney as well. Thats as far as I have gotten in the process. My fiance is still waiting for Packet 3. However, once your case gets to NVC and you get the new case number, you can schedule the medical exam. I would do this asap when you can to make it go even a tiny bit faster.

I think at this point, an August wedding is still in reach. Try looking at timelines for your embassy to see how long it takes from NVC to interview to get a better idea.

I am hoping mine will arrive tomorrow! Steve&Shannon and EasyT got theirs already from Vancouver! But I am in SK and there was no mail for 4 days due to Easter long weekend!Grrr....anywhos anybody get an interview date yet? I am pretty much ready to fax the checklist to VAC, and then I should know within a day what it will be as they schedule it right away and I can email them! I am hoping for an interview at the end of May, one never knows, but what gets me is that the US consulate in Canada gets US and Canadian holidays. So there is 2 mondays shot in May already due to Victoria day and Memorial day! and in that week of Victoria day holiday they are closed on Wednesday due to the 3rd wednesday of every month being staff development day! Arggh!! and oh yes they were closed Good Friday and Easter Monday as well! Anyways thats my rant of the day, its Monday and overall it has been a crappy day for me.

What is packet 3?? I'm making sure that we've got everything organized in advance... other than the I-134 & documentation, continued letter of intent, and pictures/evidence of an on-going relationship, is there anything else that I should haved filled out already? Aren't we supposed to wait on the police report and medical until everything is at the US embassy in the other country???

ALB2009..depending on what your consulate sends out as packet 3 or in Vancouver's case they send out a letter that says go to the consulate website to download the checklist. Some of the other forms may or may not be the DS-230, DS-156 or DS-156K, or DS-160 depending on what your consulate requires.

Congratulations! The dogs had a long trip up to SK, but at least it is getting closer to spring time in Canada and they didn't struggle too much. :D

No interview yet. We hit a SNAFU! She thought she had her police report from Belarus, but she doesn't have it. She needed the police report in order to get her Canadian work visa.

She is supposed to call the Belorussian embassy in Ottawa and find out how long it will take to get it. If it only takes 2 or 3 weeks we will send in the checklist, otherwise we will have to hold off.

Don't send off your checklist until you actually have everything in your hands! I've been reading stories of woe about how some people think they had everything.....or it was coming soon....and they sent it off, and are now on their 3rd interview reschedule and 3 months delay! It's just a stress-er that you don't need!

Nik has already requested his police cert and we aren't sending off the checklist (although we expect it in the mail any day now!) until it is in hand - just in case it's been lost, or somehow has incorrect info that needs to be fixed etc.

Hahaha yeah the dogs were probably hungry!

The only 2 things we are waiting for is my new passport, which should be here by the end of the week and Brad's bank letter, which if it does take 6 weeks will still be here in time for the interview (I hope), he just got the IRS transcripts yesterday. I can't complete the DS-156 without my new passport because its a different passport number! Arggh! Everything else is filled out and ready to go! I have to get a tetanus booster next week *gulp*,
