Medical Questionnaire??

Hello fellow UK VJ'ers,

I just have a quiery on two of the questions on the medical questionnaire that they ask you to complete prior to your medical appointment.

So questions 9 and 10 are my concerns,

Question 9: Have you ever misused or abused drugs? I do not fully understand this question, misused/abused? does that mean have you ever taken drugs? the same with question 10: Have you ever had an addiction to or abused alcohol? I mean, who hasnt abused alcohol to the point where that person has spewed up or passed out? unless you are a saint you have done both of these things right? or is it just me?

Ok so i guess im asking if you have used drugs and drank alcohol, should you answer yes to these two questions? I dont fully know what they actually mean by the words misused/abused, maybe they mean have you had to go in rehab to come off the drugs because you have been addicted? not that i have had to go in rehab, just back in the day when i was younger i was a little more experimental, i tried stuff as you do, if you know what i mean.

Also if these are answered yes, will this put the visa in danger??

I think that they mean for the used or abused drugs is if you have ever been addicted to prescription drugs or used the other kind, so unless either of those apply I would mark no

Regarding the booze we have all been in that boat, but I think that they refer more to being addicted or an alcoholic I marked mine as no, a few drunken nights dont really count

Hmmm, ok so if someone has used class a, b or c drugs, not prescription drugs, they should mark yes you think? I mean, im thinking 80% of the population has used those kinds of drugs, well 80% might be a little exaduration but well over half the population im guessing. I just dont want this one stupid question putting the whole visa under threat.

Yeah regarding the alcohol i totally agree.

If you admit to using illegal drugs you will almost certainly be refused a visa.

If you obtain a visa by lying and it is subsequently found out the visa can be revoked, the holder deported from the US and a possible ban on re-entry.

Your choice how you answer the question.
