Fiance's Financial Situation? (Debt)

We just got our NOA2 and so now are gearing up for the whole new set of worries. No, we are happy, but still:

One question I have is that my fiance has some debt. It is not a lot, below $3000 US I believe, some credit cards/motorcycle lease, that sort of thing, which he has planned to have paid off by the end of June, when we would hopefully be going to the States.

I know that we have to have a co-sponsor, since I live and work here in Colombia, so have no US income to report.

However, I am guessing we will have our interview before the end of May. Are his finances ever looked at? How so? Will we need the Affidavit of Support at the interview?

Your fiancé's debt will not be an issue - your I-134(s) is to be brought (not sent) to the embassy/consulate at time of interview.
