I am restless as I await the packet from the American Embassy. I have called them for an interview appointment but was advised to first wait for the packet. And as I helplessly lounge in the waiting room, now knowing when the packet will knock on the door, I thought of posing an off-topic question to you, my Filipino friends and your loved ones.

It goes like this - if you are a fan of police stories on television or the movies, who is your favorite TV or movie cop? Mine is Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord) of Hawaii Five-O. Also, I admire Inspector Callahan (Clint Eastwood) of the Dirty Harry pictures. (Omigosh, I'm showing my generation here!) How about you?

Robert Blake or James Arness. Jack Lord might also fit in there somewhere.

My husband likes Mick Belker of Hill Street Blues especially when he threatens to rip somebody's lungs out. I like Steve Guttenberg's character as the very cool guy -- Mahoney in the Police Academy movies.-- Rocky

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

Hola Senorita Teresita! Como estas usted? Estoy bien. I hope you get your visa packet soon. -- Rocky

P.S.

Bill and I spent four days in Los Angeles for the holidays. We did some sightseeing in East LA going to Riverside. We missed the exit and we got lost. We ended up in this turn going to Nevada. So we have to go back and find the right one. Luck was on our side, we found this place where Bill has to deliver some stuff he use in his work. You're going to live in the big city -- East LA. I envy you. Much as I like the peace and quiet here, I am stuck here in the country. My friend in Manila had her interview at the US embassy yesterday. Her fiance was there with her.
