RFE with lawyer??!!

Hi Everyone,

So many people who filed with CSC in October are getting their NOA2. Well today I received the email saying they request for more evidence.

We used a lawyer to file our case, wasn't it supposed to prevent an RFE????

I'm confused and sad and worried what the RFE could be.

Is it normal that we received an RFE using a lawyer??

Thanks in advance!

Someone else on VJ received an RFE for a translation even though they had a lawyer. Not all lawyers are perfect.

Unfortunately, very common. :(

Due to the fact we hired a lawyer?

This thing is driving me crazy.

No, that's not the reason you got an RFE. USCIS can and does ask for whatever they want right up until the final approval-lawyer or not.

The good news is that once you send in what they want-your approval could be right round the corner! Good Luck!

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Not due to the fact that you hired him/her.... but many times we simply trust the person to get it all right because we're paying them... like a Doctor, you know? We just expect them to do things right. Often, they have a liason they appoint to do the work and many times they just aren't familiar enough with the process to be certain everything is done right.

It could be something as simple as a missed check box (Q2 on part C of the I-129f is a common missed box)... I hope so! It shouldn't hold you up too long.

good luck.

No our Q2 on part C is checked... I just looked. Could it be because I'm French but currently living in Toronto?

Also I noticed the birth dates are supposed to be mm/dd/yyyy and for mine for example it is 6/3/1983, could it be that?

It is not because you live in Toronto, it is because something is missing in your folder or you forgot to write something. Wait to get the letter, it is pretty fast. So you will know what is going on. At least you received a RFE after only 3 months, we received ours 4 1/2 after we received NOA1

No, it's not because of where you live and most likely not because of the dates...I think many people put the dates in that format. ;)

For some it's because they need proof of having met in the last two years, proof of legal name change (previous marriage license), proof of dissolution of previous marriage (divorce decree), proof of US Citizenship...etc...etc. I merely pointed out that box because it's a common...yet simple... reason for rfe. We can speculate all we want but until you get that letter it's anyone's guess. There is an rfe sticky thread at the top of the K-1 forum that you can read through if you are curious as to others experiences.

The good news is they have reached your file and hopefully that means the approval is right around the corner. :)

Yeah I read your profile earlier. It seems it went pretty fast after you sent the RFE reply... Hope that would be the same for us. Maybe they want more pictures I don't know...

Well i think they sent 3 pictures of us, I haven't been married before, and I think they sent both of our birth certificates. Maybe they need a copy of his passport. I don't know if it was included in the file. I can't wait to find out, I hope it's not too too bad.
