just curious about a few things. the package was delivered on december 29, 2008 to uscis. i noticed the check hasnt cleared the bank yet. how long does it typically take them to get things started? is there a website where i can check the status of our application?

I am in the same boat, USCIS received the package on December 31, 2008 and the check has not cleared yet either! I am starting to freak out!

i haven't receive anything either. I saw other member sent to VSC and approve next day on NOA1 based on this time http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php. eventho it has been only 3 working days, is like forever. :bonk:

VSC K1 & N400 Timeline:

1/05/2009 Sent I-129F, G-325A + other documents as required. $455 fee
1/09/2009 NOA1 Petitioner received
4/30/2009 NOA2 Petitioner received (approved in 105 days from NOA1 3.5months)
6/08/2009 Packet 3 Petitioner received
6/20/2009 Packet 4 Petitioner received, mail everything from above forms & I-134 plus other doc as required for beneficiary
7/23/2009 Interview @ 7am, Interview passed- visa pick up July 31st

9/13/2009 Arrived in JFK
9/15/2009 Applied for Marriage License $40
9/29/2009 Applied SSN (bring SS-5, Passport, & I-94). Went to local County District Court for Marriage License $38.50 fee... Officially Marriage. Received SS card in less then 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, apply for State Photo ID

Maybe it's because of all the holidays - xmas and new year's.. I think sometimes they do it fairly quick, some has to wait for 2 weeks.. I suggest if you haven't heard after 1 month, maybe give them a ring?

If I don't have a NOA1 and a case number then it would be useless to call them, I am praying soon it will cash!

Has USCIS cashed your check yet? Nothing yet here either. Please post when/if they do cash it as we are in the same boat. I am thinking its because of the holidays, maybe its just taking awhile underneath a stack of mail! LOL!

They were pretty fast in cashing my check and sending the NOA-1. (CSC)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
