NOA1 for I130 is dated 07/31/08. NOA1 for I129F is dated 09/16/08. What happens in a case where the I130 is approved before the I129F? Is the approval of either form coordinated with the other? Also, we signed up for the email notifications but have not received a single update, not even the touches. Is this normal? Is it time to contact congressman?

You will be better off if I-130 is aproved than I-129F! If they gave you same time approval on both, take I-130 instead but if you have approved on both and 2 different time for an interview, like you have interview for I129F before take the I-130, go to both interview and when you get interviewed to I-130 let them know your decisions of sticking to I-130, that's up to you which one you want.

Some of us are getting e-mailed for notifications, then some of us here just got regular mail stating about the case or approvals.

Goodluck, I am still waiting for mine and it was aplied on June 12...08.

The I129F and the I130 are two seperate cases. They have their own seperate case numbers. One has nothing to do with the other.

That is the way the NVC explaned it to me.

When the files are at NVC then it is so... however, considering that NVC has nothing to do with approving petitions....

YMMV

They are independent once they get to NVC but during the USCIS stage, the policy is to put the two petitions together and adjudicate them at the same time. In most cases, approvals of both petitions are on the same date. If the I-130 is approved BEFORE THE I-129F IS RECEIVED, the I-129F would normally be rejected. Only a mistake would bring a different result, as a "pending I-130" is a pre-requisite for processing an I-129F for a spouse.

If both get accepted at the same time, Which one gets processed faster by the NVC on avg? Or both take the same time?

the process for each petition at NVC is very different... so you really cannot compare

YMMV

if its different, then the time frame will b different too correct? and if dats the case, which one is faster, the CR1 or the K 3(i am talking about post approval for both, when it goes to NVC)?

well CR1 is processed almost in its entirety by NVC and the process will in some part be determined by how fast you respond to information requests

The K-3 is processed almost in its entirety at the consulate....

YMMV

A CR1 case at NVC can take from 6 weeks to 6 months mostly depending on your response time.

A K3 case is usually in and out in a week or two without any input from petitioner or beneficiary.
