Well, they had called for rain changing to snow, and we got a little rain but that was it. Still fairly cool, but not below freezing. Supposed to warm up to the 40's by the weekend. Everytime they call for snow or sleet here, everyone freaks out. Buying milk and bread, and there is a rush on salt from HD. Crazy.

We got some snow! It didn't stick to the ground at all of course, and it only snowed for about half an hour when the whole storm was more or less winding down. It DID get below freezing over here (30 when I woke up), but the ground is still warm from yesterday. I was disappointed when I kept looking out the window and seeing rain, rain, more rain, no snow, rain, and still more rain. Now there is something I never thought I'd say.

The over-salting of the roads really irritates me. I mean, it isn't going to do any good if it rains for 5 hours before it starts turning into ice and washes all the salt away, and it isn't going to help if we get 10 inches of snow in a few hours. All it really does is make it hard to find a good place to walk my dog so she won't get road salt on her paws.

*waves to Ms. Songbird* we didn't get any snow. No fair! Two and a half years here now and I'm such a wimp! Brrrrrrrrr

snow in houston today - long ugly url -> http://community2.myfoxhouston.com/service...p;d-7095067-p=1

Houston not a 'snow city', so is much car wrecks, cars turn into bumper sleds, very messy..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I went to Sudbury in the middle of January a few years back and I wanted to DIE. It was flippin cold! And snowy. I'm pretty sure It snowed everyday for the 4 days I was there.

So we have the possibility of snow in the forecast tonight as well. Tomorrow's high is only going to be 40 - which is cold for us - and the lows into the 20s with rain/wet snow.

Actually, it's been 5 years without a snowstorm except for a few days over those 5 years so I don't mind having snow so much anymore. I still prefer the warm weather though - I worry about the feral cats outside in this and the stray cat currently living on our porch (plus 2 ferals who I need to neuter this winter) in weather like this. Better fill up the bird feeders as well - they'll want food.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

It's -27 right now <_<

So I said to Mike this morning - soooo maybe we should move to Victoria - where it is currently -1 btw - however, as he mentioned, how cold does it really feel - since it is obviously damper there, but I said, regardless, it has to be better than -26 (which apparently feels like -36 or something, according to weather dude - but with those temperatures does it really matter)?
