Good luck Jan '09 VJ filers.

There's no better place to be during the 'wait' than on VJ.

Loads of  and :crying: but we're all in the same boat here trying hard to be real patient.

Strongs to you all! :star:

Just out of curiousity, some of you have signatures with timelines, and sometimes they have a date and say "touched"...what does that mean? This is all new to me...:)

How do I know if my case has been "TOUCHED"?

By checking your case status online on the USCIS website after you have your receipt number for your case. It will show any date that there has been an 'update', that is a touch.

My first NOA was January 14th. I have not had a touch since. Is that unusual?

I don't think it is unusual. Basically I think ours are sitting on a shelf somewhere while they are working on the ones ahead of ours. It is all a waiting game. Even if there is a touch, could just be them moving it from one place to another, there's really no way to know what they do when they 'touch' anything. Just try to be patient. :)

We got our NOA1 dated 15th Jan but our case does not appear on their website at all if you search for it. I have read that this is common, the website is fairly unreliable...have others found this?

We did phone them as well the their phoneline gives the same info, however my fiance spoke to someone and they said it would be fixed in a couple days, but needless to say it still shows as before.

We get the following messaage: "Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

I have been watching my case move forward and backward on Igor's list. I understand forward, but I don't understand backward. Can anyone explain? I expect that most everyone else is experiencing this phenomenon. Thanks for listening.

I think that happens when people who just create their time lines enter or change their information and it falls before your times. That's the only thing I can figure.

Mine usually goes all over on the weekends. Maybe because VSC doesn't update status's then?? *Not knowing these things* However, I do know that mail is delivered on Saturdays and have read that some people never did get updated emails of their NOA2 and *poof* there it is in the mail, which would also explain the mighty drop that I've encountered. All I can say is "GO VSC!!"

Mind you, I do have some very realistic views and realize that VJ is only a small percentage of petitions, so I'm not organizing my life according to my time line, however reading that it could be approved by end of May has got me excited!!

I would be willing to hedge that it is based upon the averages of those that post their results in their timeline. Although I have seen my expected date draw nearer I have yet to see it reverse. The reverse would be the average of RFEs reported; which would increase the overall adjudication of those cases yet to be heard. These dates could be based upon those in 2008 or 2009.
