Good day everybody and Happy New Year...

Me and my fiance are getting married in march. We decided to apply for a greencard after we get married. (im from canada)

However... is it better to start with a fiance visa? and get married later? or just start off with our marriage.

Because we really want to be together and we want to do this right.

What are the steps....i got a couple of information when i did my research and it is sooo complicated.

As well, after i get married, can i come back to canada and finish my contract at work and then move to the US as a visitor until everything is approved?

please WE REALLY NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you

Dee

also you cant "move" to the US on a visitor visa.

like said above,

You can apply for K1 and wait in canada, then come and marry

or marry and apply CR1 or K3 and wait in canada until approved

visit often :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Yea my bad ..not "move" cuz its like 6 months period...but so what do you think would be better to apply k3 fiance.... or marry?

My fiance rather getting married.

Is it faster to get k3 ? or both are the same?

And when i apply can travel to see him every month like i usualy do?

K-3 is NOT fiancee visa; it is spousal non-immigrant visa.

please please :guides:

The choice you make is really dependent on your plans. just keep in mind that it is illegal to enter the U.S. with the intention of immigrating/staying/adjusting status.. you get the point. ;) Also, depending on the visa you shoot for, there may be some travel restrictions before you can head back to Canada. Read through the GUIDES and FAQ and educate yourself best you can to the process...that's really the only way.... then make your choice based on your own circumstances.

Welcome to VJ
