There are a number of ways to do the print:

If the log is a *.txt file, save the file/email then print

Print to a file or better yet print it as a PDF using this nice little free program

I'm assuming you already know how to find and open the chat logs? If not check google where the logs are stored. I'd assume under C: - Program Files - MSN - Check for the logs. Use google it will help you find what your after I'm sure. I haven't touched MSN in years! Printers are quite cheap now, back home (a few years ago) I used to use Epson simply because they where very cheap and the ink could be bought online for very little money.

Hi Tprp,

I admit, I haven't used MSN chat (or any other chat program) in such a long time....But boy, does this post take me back to our long-distance pre-marriage relationship days with my now husband, where we used to spend countless hours talking to each other online...

As for how to print chat logs and e-mails, this is what I remember what did before, when I needed to print them out (especially for immigration-related purposes):

-Access the chat log and/or e-mail

-For longer conversations and longer e-mails: Cut and paste the relevant parts of the long conversations and long e-mails onto a Microsoft Word file, or Notepad file, or other word-processing document file. Make sure that at the place you are printing them out from that you can access and print out the same type of files too.

-As well, I'm sure you don't want immigration officers knowing too much of the private details of your relationship so you might need to do some editing there for content. As well, you need to edit it for length anyways if it is overall too long.

-Save the edited document onto a disk, or forward the edited contents as a new e-mail attachment

-Open the disk or e-mail attachment and print from a printer accordingly

-For shorter converstaions and shorter e-mails that don't need editing: Print them out directly from the original online chat or e-mail source (and also save on a disk or e-mail attachment, if need be)

By the way, on a funny side-note, when I went for my AOS interview (oh about 2 years ago or so), I also brought along 300+ pages of e-mails and chat logs that was organized neatly in a binder to show them. And when I asked the immigration officer if they wanted to see it (I even asked twice), they said no. Lol...I guess they were just overwhelmed when they first saw the total two big bagfuls (yes, bagfuls, you read that correctly) of many folders, binders, envelopes, albums, etc. of all the evidence that I had bought along with me during that interview, they just didn't want to see anymore, other than a small fraction of what I had bought with me. I thought it was "better safe than sorry" to have too much evidence, than to have not enough at all. I guess I went overboard there (and still got approved anyways)....

Hope this helps. Good luck on the rest of your immigration journey too.
