Printing of DS Forms...

Hello, guys! I`m done printing all my DS Forms online few days ago but just now I have read in the website that they are requiring for ink jet or laser printer. My DS Forms (DS 156)looks good as I filled it out online. I was just wondering if the bar code of page #3 under filtered names was really blurred or it is cause by my printer , quite curious about it. Which bar code they will scan ? is it on the page 1 or in the page 3 of DS 156.

Lastly, is it okay if I used Epson printer? even they require ink jet or laser printer? Will USEM accept it during my interview?

Hoping for any replies. Thank you and God bless!

Ink jet and Laser printers produce a nearly flawless printed document. Barcode scanners are sometimes very pick when attempting to scan the barcode itself, so whatever you do after printing your document try not to wrinkle or damage the page in any way. Their scanner MUST be able to read the barcord. I believe the barcode just contains the info included in your document. If you Epson is a laser or ink jet you should be ok.

Page 3 bar code is what they scan, it contains all information entered into the first 2 pages.

A DOT-Matrix printer does not print at a high enough resolution, needs to be ink-jet or laser printer.

Since this applies to all consulates and embassies will move it to Consulate/ Embassy forum.

To clarify, Epson is a printer brand, not a printer category, like "ink jet" or "laser". Many "Epson" printers are "ink jet" printers. but some are not. Do they make laser jet printers too? What's the model number of the Epson printer in question?

That reminds me of the printer we had at work when I first started. The thing was so big it almost needed its own room.

How would I know if my Epson is laser ink or inkjet?

My printer is Epson Stylus C45. How it differ from the required laser printer or inkjet printer from US Embassy?

It's an inkjet. As the page you linked to states:

"With a host of enhanced features, the 4-colour inkjet printer is supreme value for the home user."

You're good to go. ;)
