Hello everyone and happy new year.

We are another july fillers still waiting here. My fiance had an infopass appointment today and the lady told him that we were put in to the extended review on December 12th. Does anyone have an idea how long that can take? None of us have a police record or anything so we dont know what this could be about.

Thank you for answer.

Z.

I have never heard this term before but my guess is that this is the same as "administrative processing" where they perform additional background checks or have to resolve hits from your background checks. This can take weeks or even months. If you look around in this forum, you will notice that quite a few of us have the same problem.

If it's something at NVC, it could be one, or all, of the following:

a) administrative processing, also known as AP

b) nothing in particular

c) holiday-caused delay

d) part of the standard procedure

e) extended standard procedure

f) case waiting to be sent in just a few minutes/days/weeks/months/years/forever

g) nothing they'd like to discuss with you

h) random things

i) little green potato thief

j) you name it.

Whichever one it is, its timeframe is unknown.
