The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Work, fool!

j/k. I've got a lot of stuff on at the moment. Here's a conundrum, peeps: let's say you have a friend who is also a work colleague, and you guys work on different coasts. She needs to visit your part of the world for a piece of business you are working on together. However, your husband can't stand her and she doesn't know this. He would prefer for her not to stay at your house because she drives him bananas. She is welcome to come over and whatnot, but he would rather she stay at a hotel. You theoretically have the room in the house, but even though there are two beds and only two people living in the house, both beds are occupied at the moment because someone has been banished temporarily due to snoring issues. Would you feel comfortable telling your friend she would need to stay at a hotel because there is no room at the inn due to snoring? If you were the friend, would you feel hard done by? Keep in mind, she will be reimbursed by work for lodging, so it's no skin off her teeth.

I would be honest about it and share a laugh, if she was not going to get the money back for her exoences then that would be a different story

To be honest if I was her I would say I am staying at a hotel and wait to see if an offer of a room was coming, I would not expect it.

Eli the Barrowboy: Dave (my husband) says we owe you a pizza :D

got a PERSONAL CALL from the USCIS ombudsman's office this morning, telling me that my EAD was approved today and the card had been ordered :star:

I'm to allow 'at least fourteen days' for the delivery of said card, and can call them back if I have any problems or further questions :)

so thank you, SO MUCH, for the tip; it really worked (that, and I'm now a month outside their quoted processing times :angry: )

Tell her the truth - no room at the inn!

Maven, has she said that she expects to stay at your house? Regardless of what her expectations are, you should just let her know about the snoring issue. And I wouldn't feel bad about it either. Her expenses will be paid for.

Brilliant news, just fantastic.

Mine arrived on the 17th - so 9 days after approval.

BTW, I wouldn't like to condone any iffy activity but the job that I had offered accepted my USCIS email as evidence I was authorized to work. And they needed the number on the card - well should you need it, it's the same as the receipt number for the EAD - MSCxxxxxxxxxxxx whatever.

Anyway, so glad for you. I just logged in here now to see if there was any word from you.

God love that Ombudsman.

PS Mine's a Guinness flavored Pizza.

Poiteen,

Is that Croagh Patrick? I'm still sore 6 years after climbing that bad boy!!! I'm from the Fermanagh/Lietrim border so we were only 1.5 hours from Westport.
