Priority Date?

NOA for I-130 has recieve Date and Notice Date. Priority Date field is left blank. Why? Whats the priority date?

I would call USCIS and talk to operator and ask why it is blank.. I have never know one to be blank,. I am ot exactly sure what the priority date is used for but knowing immigration it has a purpose and I would not want it being blank to cause any kind of hold up

You do not need a priority date, it is immediate, unlike say you were sponsoring a brother.

Don't worry, our priority date box was blank also...on the I-130 and the I-129f Noa's.

The Priority Date is the queue date (place in line) for when a visa application will become available to the beneficiary of the petition. There are annual quotas for many classifications of immigrant visas, and there are more applicants than available visas.

However, there is no quota for Immediate Relatives, visas for Immediate Relatives are available immediately. Therefore no waiting in line, therefore no Priority Date.

i guess this is a question for the reply that yodrak posted.

Im the USC, and my husband is the future alien.

On our I-130 we have a rpiority date of December 23,2005.

(So if I call the embassy, what should I ask in reference to when he'll get an interview date? since there is no "waiting" for a immediate relative of a USC?)

Oh yea.. since Im the "designated" agent, will I or He(my husband in India) get packet 3?

its been 7 months and 2 weeks since me or the baby has seen our ALIEN

The priority date is on the NOA2, yes? If you look at the receipt/received date on the NOA1 is that date the same as the priority date on the NOA2? As was the case with ours. As yodrak stated....there is no quota for Immediate Relatives, visas for Immediate Relatives are available immediately. The wait times at consulate for an interview are dependant on the numbers of applicants/backlog....totally different.

Whether one has a priorty date or not on their NOA is of no importance and means zip.

Whether you as the agent or your husband receives the packet from the embassy is consulate specific. Mine was sent to my hubby in the US as he was the agent.....others consulates send it to the alien.
