Hello all!!

I have been reading posts lately about the DS-156 form and I just looked up the forms that I had already filled out.

Does the word BARCODE really have its fine lines with numbers on it or you're fine with just having the box with a BARCODE name on it?

I actually got my forms from our immigration lawyer. I didn't filled it up online or at the Embassy's website.

My question is, is it ok? Is it really necessary for the DS-156 form to have a BARCODE on it or not?

I already had the forms printed out but I don't have a BARCODE in it.. I only have a big box with a word BARCODE type inside the box.

Just confused..

Hope all of you guys could :help:

I would really appreciate it..

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

You need to fill-up the forms online. After you're done filling up and print it out, the barcode is printed automatically on a separate sheet with your name on it and a unique code assigned for your case.

The barcode assists USEM in processing your files. Throw away the ones your lawyer gave you and follow the info from others and print out new ones online.

yes you can fill out the DS156 online and DS156k without paying the visa application fee. you can fill out the Ds 157 also, but BPI will give you a blank DS-157with payment validated, when you pay the visa application fee. you can fill it in by typing or handwriting.

you can fill up all the forms whenever you want (prior to your interview)... i believe the bank will give you ds-157 (i think. single page) and they will staple the receipt at the back of the form and thats what you will give to the embassy proving you're paid. its gona be a blank form and that i just fill up the answer using black ink back then... so you'll have 2 ds-157 (one from the bank and one from the forms you've downloaded)... i believe you need both... just basing it thru my experience. good luck and God bless!!!
