Hello, I am currently waiting to hear from London about my K1 interview date. It's been over a month now since I sent back the checklist and packet 3 and have heard nothing...

So, I am wondering how long on average other London K1-ers have had to wait for the letter?

(Apologies if this info has already been posted somewhere else - I have searched high and low for it!)

Yes, i'm also curious on how long it takes to get a interview.....on the above timelines on this site, it says about 63 days for k1's, so i donno....thats how much time I am budgeting, right now I'm still in NVC-AP, so hopefully they will send off by the end of the month, then maybe I will have a December interview, hopefully have him home to me before xmas, if not i'm coming to him for the holidays....!! Thats what we agreed on so hopefully he will be here before then!

It took a week for our packet to get from NVC to London.

After packet 3 submission, I waited 5 weeks before hearing back with my interview date.

It should come pretty quickly, but you can find out from the timelines at the top (I believe on the London consulate section).

Hmm, thanks, 5 weeks for a interview is awesome! I budgeted 8 weeks-ish! Good stuff!

Well I can tell you that the London average time from receipt of a case until the interview has greatly improved! Remember a couple weeks ago in this thread when we were worried because in the "processing times" section London had gotten all the way up to 84 days...but then someone posted saying they thought that was because of all the August employee holidays and that it would vastly improve in September... I think they were right! It's gone down by 20 days! It's at 65 again and that's just the average. It's the like a service center saying five months but approving in three. A very good sign, I would say.

I'll keep a good thought for you that you're soon out of the NVC and that he's here with you for Christmas!!

I know someone else who has been waiting just a bit longer than you. Don't forget most of the consular staff are American and a lot come home in August for a vacation. Slows things way down, happens every year.

Packet 4s have started being sent out again. The person I know who was waiting theirs was sent out Tuesday just gone with an interview date later this month.

Ooh thanks for that - that is definitely a comfort. I called the embassy today and they said I should hear within the week... fingers crossed.

Well if I hear from them this week, that will be about 5 weeks since I sent in the docs and checklist, so that would be about right  I will keep y'all posted

Can't think what the actual words are but it points you to a web page which is:-

http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html

Worth looking to see what you will need and start to get it all together if you haven't done so.

MARM when did they finally issue your fiance's visa? I'm shocked that it took this long, after they sent for your fiance's passport ages ago.

I thought your fiance would have received it weeks ago, i've even been on a 6 week holiday back to Scotland and back, popped in to the UK forum and saw that he was still in AP as of last week. That is totally ridiculous. But, i'm glad they finally got their fingers outta their butts and issued the visa!!!

I don't think it matters. Nik booked his before - then he could send off the checklist knowing everything was squared away, and no "pending medical" would happen.
