one other thing when i phone the courier will they pick it up same day? and when i do send it wot do i need to put on the envelop and do i need to put in the blue piece of paper?

thanxs rich

Hi, I had to send docs back last week too. I called the courier at lunchtime on Thursday and they said they were unable to collect the same day, i'm not sure if its because it was too late then or if they can't do same day collections? So they collected Friday and delivered it Monday! The embassy will not accept courier'd items the same day for security reasons. So my docs were delivered yesterday and it was logged onto the system today, but no approval just yet, fingers crossed I will get it tomorrow!!

@MARM - The lady asked specifically for a photocopy of her passport, but we got a photocopy of her passport, driving license and birth certificate for no other reason than to hit the nail with a proverbial sledge hammer!

@Gemmie - I phoned the courier today at around 1pm, they could only pickup tomorrow onwards, so my documents got emailed to me and I printed them, they'll pick em up before noon and subsequently drop off my visa when it comes through before noon too, that cost 34.20 pounds. So unless you phone mega-early, they'll probably come the next day.

- OUR TIMELINE -

04/25/08 - sent I-130 to Chicago lockbox

05/05/08 - received NOA1, assigned to VSC

11/07/08 - transferred to CSC

12/16/08 - NOA2 by email - I-130 approved

12/20/08 - NOA2 in mail - 240 days

12/22/08 - NVC receive package

01/05/09 - we receive AOS Bill and DS-3032

02/12/09 - medical 04th Mar 2009 - NVC Complete - 314 days

04/28/09 - interview passed - 370 days

06/20/09 - visa arrived by courier

06/21/09 - POE Dallas Fort-Worth - 398 days to gain permanent residence (CR-1)

02/22/11 - Sent I-765 to Vermont Service Center

03/03/11 - Received receipt for I-765

04/04/11 - AOS interview and biometrics in Oklahoma City - took all of 20 minutes, no sweat

Currently waiting on my 10-year Green Card - Best wishes to everyone going through their journey!

Alix dad who is the co-sponsor miss understood Q11 and put i do not intend instead of i do intend

Oh no!

Our co-sponsor said "do intend" and specificed room and board for a few months, but my fiance said "do not intend" as it asked for 'specific contributions' and duration etc.. considering the text on the form says that the sponsor is agreeing to generally support me, I didn't think we MUST tick that box?? :(

We also only have a birth certificate as proof of US citizenship for the co-sponsor. Since when did they ask for passports only?

Alix didnt tick a box and put N/A as applying for K1 and i think the co-sponsor has to intend.

Hi AlixHilary, I put the blue paper in and a hand written cover letter (printer won't work!) as well as the document they wanted and our passports. I'm not sure if you're meant to include the blue paper or not??

Argh, I just sent mine with him not 20 minutes ago and did NOT include the blue note...I can't see why they'd need it though, it only tells you what you're missing, they have a much bigger form with everything ticked off, or not, so as an educated, I'd guess you don't need to send it.

I've got to dash to work but I just wanted to let anybody who might be interested know that my visa's been approved @ 9:40 this morning!!! :dancing::dancing: . It was by far the easiest part of this whole visa journey. Got all my originals back including the letter of employment.

I'll write the review a bit later.

Now the countdown to the wedding can start - 13 days to go...
