congrats......

we had the interview today, and was told to get a new form sent to them.. thats why i'm asking. its ok i know what to do now. london embassy is not that bad its just the waiting. i thank god i dont have to go back there. well in 2 weeks or so i should have my visa in hand then i have to think about the next stage of this journey.....anyone know any good shipping agents lol...... congrats to all of us approvees for this week..muahx

Well, the courier collected our passports and my sworn affadavit from the notary public yestreday at 10.30am. It was actually a pretty personal and embarrassing statement in places, he wanted me to write some strange things :blush: ...I told him what I wanted included and he worded it in a very formal way....he even described me as a spinster :D:rofl:

Hopefully someone will work on it on Monday? I hope we get our visas by the end of next week, please!!!! :star:

Hey folks, just to let you know my visa arrived on Thursday 23rd April. Yeehaaaaaa! You can add me on to the April list of approvals.

I would also like to have a wee rant about the secure mail services that the embassy provide while I'm on the subject coz I am suspicious. I live in the Highlands of Scotland. It's not on far off remote island or anything, it's on the mainland where we have running water and electricity too! But when I called them regarding picking up my additional documents, they said they didn't pick or deliver to my postcode and therefore I would have to post them myself through Royal Mail. They told me it would've been £25 for pick up of my stuff and delivery of my visa. So, I paid £5.40 with Royal Mail. I knew they'd need payment for the return of my visa but I waited for them to get in touch. So anyway, they called and left and totally incoherent message on my answering machine which took me about 20 attempts to figure out who the hell they were. When I called, they said it would be £25 for them to deliver my visa back. I was gobsmacked. I told them they said it was £25 all round so why was I being charged this colossal amount for a one way and they dont even deliver to my area. The woman (with the patronising and annoying voice) told me it was £25 again. I told her I'd only paid £5.40 one way and how I thought this was a ridiculous amount of money. She didn't want to hear it so I gave her my credit card details which she got wrong and told me it was declined. I force fed her the details again through gritted teeth when she apologised for being wrong. I hasten to add this call took place at 8.30am at which point I was shampooed to the max in the shower and had to come out early. She then said they would arrive 2 days after this so I told her for that money, I'd expect them next day (on a golden plate from her Majesty herself). She then went on to say that it was because I lived sooooo far away. Yeah, an hour on the plane love. Soooooooooooooooooooo far away. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I'd just like to ask your opinions coz I figure that I could be wrong about the price here. Did any of you guys have a similar story. I just think that £25 for a delivery is bang out of order considering it only cost me £5.40.

The cheapest I could get for collection and delivery was £28 something, and I don't live far from London. To add insult to injury, they couldn't collect until Friday (yesterday) and told me that it won't be delivered until Monday!!. Royal mail could have got it there faster and far cheaper, but again, the embassy have a way of stitching everything up. They did say though, that the embassy have stopped accepting courier items the same day for security reasons, they must go to the depot first.

I have just resigned myself to the fact that this process is going to cost an arm and a leg at every step of the way, I think AOS is even worse!

Oh, when did you send your docs back to the embassy? Just trying to figure out how long it takes to get the visas back as I am in the same boat!

I know what you mean about this process costing an arm and a leg. I'd like to add a head on to that!

I sent my documents back Royal Mail on Thursday 9th April and received them on the 23rd. Bearing in mind the weekend I sent them was Easter and the post office was on their jollies so I don't think they left until Monday 13th. Relatively quick considering how long everything else takes. I was super glad coz I booked my flight after the interview against their advice! I felt the need to rebel but it worked in my favour. Hope all goes well for ya.
