Am I reading your timeline correctly KAT&Allie? London received your docs on 21st of April and you received Packet 4 with your interview date on the 24th of April?

Sort of . This morning I phoned that expensive line at London Embassy and he told me that the appointment letter has been sent. Since I'm at work and my postman doesn't arrive till 1:30 pm I have no idea whether the letter will be there on not when I get home. Packet 3 took 4 days to arrive. So no, I haven't received packet 4 as yet . And yes, I've sent it on 20th April and they received it on 21th April. Sorry you've been waiting so long. Have you thought to contact your congressman about it?

Wow what a turnaround! What dates, if any did you put for expected travel and wedding? You may have said it previously but I just woke up and am too lazy to look it up.

Diary of a Visazilla

Thanks for all the best wishes. I just got back from the embassy.. whoever said that this is an anticlimax they were definately wrong. I sat there in the airport lounge inspired by 1975 and watched as everyone but myself ( i was 5001) got called up. I was there from 7.20 or there abouts. Eventually i got called to the final interview at 9.20 am. By which time I had had several small heart attacks everytime a number was called that began with 5000 , 1 crying fit in the toilet and multiple visions of denied, denied, denied. What a drama queen. I told you I'm a visazilla.

Then I saw the carrier of my fate, window 16. Sunny blonde smiling mid forties american lady. "Hey sorry about the wait." "where did you meet, when was the first time you met him, where did he propose ", she glances with a smile at our photos , you can see she likes a bit of romance " whats his mothers name, have you met his parents, does he have children whats the babymothers name, yada yada yada" at this point my mind starts to blank out alittle. however she smiles back at me..... looks at the financial papers. The I134 was filled out properly at the end. Hands of the blue form of shattered dreams. " just send the form to us, ring this courier no and they will come and collect it, when are you gettting married oh it will get to you before then ...." so i asked " are we approved" " oh yes, your approved just send us the documentation and we will get the visa sent out to you".

i did a little dance at the window.

I'm home in Michigan!!!! Haven't updated timeline yet re: POE will soon, was not the easiest time.

All that matters is I am home with my honey, we went and picked up the marriage certificate today. So we are all set for next Friday.

I've put 10 May as a date of travel and 14th for the wedding, which is absolutely true. So the 12th is not going to help us much but I did send an email to the Embassy this morning asking for an earlier date if possible. If we have to cancel the wedding, it will be the second time... but if we have to do it, we'll do it. Maybe they think we've done our time at Vermont so we can now move a bit faster

I called DOS yesterday about 4:30pm UK time and the Embassy this morning about 8:30. I was speechless when they told about Packet 4!! And there I was only trying to find out whether they've received my Packet 3 or not so I can send them another copy if it got lost .

It's hard to tell in my case as both travel and wedding dates are so close together but I would've thought they try to work around your travel date since most sane people leave themselves time to prepare for the wedding once they enter.
