Timeline

I would keep pursuing both of them. Although if your lucky enough if you get your I-130 interview before your leave the country (on the 129) your in (assuming your still there) it would be better to get that approved while there. Otherwise you will have to adjust status in the US (I-485).

the timeline was a very useful answer, gives everyone a better idea of your current situation and could influence any advice given :)

as a quick general reply, the k-3 is usually quicker and you can use this to enter the US and either adjust your status, or fly back home and have the interview to get your CR-1 visa with the greencard to follow.

im sure someone will give you more details...

15 aug -- K-1 application posted to TSC

17 aug -- TSC receives application

no NOA1, USCIS says no record....

31 oct resubmitted

09 NOV money order cashed

08 NOV NOA1 date, yey! arrived in post 14th nov

Ok besides posting a timeline.. Does anyone have a useful answer...

I wasn't trying to be smart. It's helpful to know which country you're going through. It'll make a difference in what suggestions you receive. (For example, Canadians or Mexicans can easily come in on the K-3 and then return home to finish the CR-1 instead of adjusting status in the US. )
