PLEASE HELP:Affidavit and K1 visa

Hey guys,

I'm about to submit the first set of forms, to start my fiance's k1 visa application. I found a website (not VJ) that says you should include the form, I-134 Affidavit of support as one of the documents. But reading from the posts on this site made by you guys, it seems that the affidavit is needed until the k1 visa is approved and the fiance goes in for the interview at the US embassy/consulate.

From my understanding, the forms I need to submit with the first packet is, I-129F and G-325A (for myself and for my fiance). Of course, this is not including the copy of my birth certificate, letters of intent to marry, and the proof that we have met within the 2 years of filing.

My question is: Do I need to submit the form I-134 Affidavit of support with the first packet (I-129F and G-325A, etc.)

01/29/07: MEDICAL IN CDJ

01/30/07: INTERVIEW in CDJ **My fiance receives his visa**

03/31/07-04/08/07: I leave to Mexico and bring back my fiance

04/08/07: U.S. ENTRY at LAX

04/23/07: Married in Vegas

07/03/07: TOUCHED (EAD)

07/07/07: Submitted response to RFE

07/18/07: TOUCHED (AOS) They received RFE response

08/08/07: AP APPROVED

08/10/07: EAD APPROVED

10/17/07: AOS interview in Los Angeles -- APPROVED, pending name check :(

02/08/08: Name check has cleared, Notice welcoming new resident is mailed out

02/12/08: Card Production ordered, woohoo

02/15/08: Notice welcoming new resident is received

02/21/08: GREEN CARD IN HAND

08/23/08: After 7 years together . . . Religious wedding ceremony and HUGE PARTY in Jalisco, Mexico (we deserve it)

08/24-08/30: Spend our honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico

No you do not, you will have to send the I-134 to your fiance before they go for they're interview at the Consulate :thumbs:

Interview Scheduled - 11/07/2006

Fiance should be on her way to me! 11/10/2006

Absolutely not. The I-134 is taken to the consulate for the final interview. It is not part of the initial petition submission.

Also, the consulate will send you a list of instructions for what you need before his interview and this will include the I-134. Don't worry - when dealing with the consulate they actually do provide instructions and (fairly) accurate information.

Waiver approved after 10 months. Did NOT use a lawyer

The instructions for the I-129F on the USCIS website and with the form itself are pretty clear on what you need to submit with the petition. You might want to check those 2 things out. Always check the source first! :)
