Go to Local social security Office ASAP and ask them what's going on with it.

My POE was on Nov 28th with IR1 for me and IR2 for my daughter, We just received welcome letter yesterday ( Dec 17th) from USCIS and also SSN card from social security Office but for my daughter she hasnt get yet, if until this friday it wont arrive, we are going to go to social security Office on Monday. when I received visa from US embassy where I had interview they gave me paper regarding Social security , if within 3 weeks from entry you dont get SSN , then you must go to Local social security.

You can also make an appointment with some offices. We went during my lunch break with NO appointment and it only took 20 minutes to wait and my husband received his SS card yesterday! If I were you I would go ASAP early morning or perhaps midday...Good Luck

[Have you gone to the social security office and formally filed for a SS card. My husband did that using just his visa and passport and had a card in 3 weeks.

If you select to receive SSN from DS-230 form, sometimes it works, but unfortunately it may not working for some cases.

It may be lost in somewhere.

So if you don't receive SSN card within 10 days after you receive I-551 Permanent Resident Card,

you may have to visit Social Security Office to submit SS-5 to request Social Security Number.

They may ask for your passport AND I-551 Permanent Resident Card to confirm your immigration status.

If you don't want to visit local Social Security Administration Office, I guess you can mail it, but I would NOT recommend it because of the possibility of getting lost in mail.
