How do you know which district office you'll have to go through? Looking at the processing dates, it looks like West Palm Beach is whipping people through in five months, but Miami is 12 months+ so it makes a BIG difference which one you get. I live in Fort Lauderdale, so do I draw the short straw or the very very long one?

STAGE 2A - Arriving in US (4 Nov 2004) to AOS Application (16 April 2005) - 5 months, 13 days (164 days)

STAGE 2B - Applying for AOS to GC Approval - 9 months, 4 days (279 days)

STAGE 3 - Lifting Conditions. Filing (19 Dec 2007) to Approval (December 11 2008)

STAGE 4 - CITIZENSHIP (filing under 5-year rule - residency start date on green card Jan 11th, 2006)

*N400 filed December 15, 2011

*Interview March 12, 2012

*Oath Ceremony March 23, 2012.

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

I'm a South Florida filer (Coral Springs) - sent in my N-400 first week of October, 2008 and just got the interview letter today setting it at the Oakland Park office in the first week of February. Things seem to be timely moving along for this area. If you're in Ft. Lauderdale, I suppose yours will be processed at Oakland Park too.

Miami is a really stressed office as you could imagine, just like NY, LA, and Chicago. You'll have to be patient with it and take into consideration the population if your N-400 goes here. Best of luck with your application.

I just work Tier I (civilian) customer service for USCIS and have been in many types of scenarios over the years. I am filled with Immigration knowledge.

I believe I can help make everyones process simpler by helping out, even if its something small like a forum

I put in my zipcode and I was astounded to see Oakland Park pop up as a district office! I know we've got our own fingerprint center and it's pretty busy. I wasn't sure if they do citizenship though (I already know they DON'T do visas...) so I kind of disregarded it. But if you've already got your interview booked there then they must! I guess they just get so very many applications in South Florida that they had to open a seperate office for Broward county. I actually LIVE in Oakland Park so at least it'll be convenient!
