where can I find this joy of cleaning?? I need some of that I think :P

Oh! I forgot to tell you! It's strawberry season time here in sunny Florida! It makes me feel like it's springtime. Maybe I'm finally figuring out the "seasons" down here. :) That's one thing I definitely missed about home.... the distinctive four seasons.

We were coming back from home depot and parked the car and got out to come in the house and all of a sudden I heard screams coming from all directions... all over the place. I was sooo confused!

Then Mike said: "Eagles scored"

I forget how in to football these people are.

Off topic: I got some gingerbread cookie mix from Williams Sonoma from my brother in law for Christmas so I am making cookies today. :)

Good Morning everyone!

A bit chilly here today. Some cold weather expected this week. :crying: Can't wait for vacation! Gene's back has been settling down, but he's still feeling some twinges. Will take some time before he's 100% I think. Just wanted to comment on the cleaning guru's here... I like a neat house, and a clean house, but I think people can overdo it. I've read articles that too clean of a house doesn't allow our own bodies defences fight germs if there are never any around. As well, remember, that at the end of the day, you don't want to regret all the time you spent in your life cleaning, when you could have been doing something you enjoy. Live life without regrets! Enjoy your day.

Morning Yall!

Positives about the weekend : I didn't do much and Manchester United won their match against Chelsea.

Negatives: We got lots of snow and the Giants lost.

All in all, I guess it balances itself out.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Interesting, from that article:

In 2001, after George W. Bush was sworn in for his first term in office, he went to Mexico, breaking the long tradition of reserving the new U.S. president’s first visit for Canada.

George never really liked us, how can that be!?

Yes, Charles was kind enough to organize closing that thread for me, it was all going along so swimmingly until ....ahh nevermind.

Yes Carla, I hear you, I used to be a clean freak too, I don't know when that changed but I decided I was spending farrrrr too much time cleaning

I still like things clean and tidy - but I can let things slide a bit too, I think I like it better that way.

We had it in Alberta for a few years, but not anymore, it's been gone for some time. I never much cared for it and apparently no one else did either

Canada Post raising mailing rates

Canadians who still love sending traditional "snail mail" will have to pay more as of Monday.

The cost of mailing a first-class letter, card or postcard within Canada will increase to 54 cents from 52, Canada Post says.

Letters to the United States will also go up a couple of pennies and cost 98 cents, while letters to all other foreign countries will increase by a nickel to $1.65.

The Crown corporation says those increases apply to items weighing up to 30 grams cbc.ca

Sask. Had milk in Bags!! I think I still saw them on my last visit!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
