So.. hubby & I started a long process yesterday and what I thought was going to be really hard and perhaps scary turned out to be affirming and surprisingly easy.

Both of us are breathing a sigh of relief right now as we continue to more forward. It's not going to be as hard (or as costly) as we thought and hopefully will be relatively painless. :star:

Of course I'm being vague on purpose :)

Good E, whatever is your obstacle right now just remember that you'll get over it and you'll get over it together. I wish you all the best.

Good morning everyone! Ethan has two hockey practices this weekend, one today and one tomorrow. I'll be staying behind today to clean up... and do mom things around the house. I prefer to clean when no one is here. :D

Yes, sex change procedures have come way down in recent yrs, and thnaks to laser surgery, far less pain is involved!! Best of luck 'E"

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I forget the proper medical terminology, but some babies are born with both sexes, and parents have to make the decision on what sex the child should be, and of course they do guess wrong. I guess many of us do laugh it the situation, but in reality, these fine people are trapped in a body they do not feel attached to, and it is a HUGE decision to have these types of surgeries! Takes some real guts and courage!

Good morning!

Beautiful day here today! No new houses to look at right now - so my realtor tells me. I also think there are too many on the market for one person to sort through - so I might do a little more research today.

Ahh. I was wondering how your house-hunting was going. Yes, it's a beautiful day today. Hubby is with the accountant doing our taxes. Poor guy. I'm still back and forth with the financial consultant in Canada so I haven't got that completed yet. It might help if stupid Comcast wasn't down so I could access my email. I guess I should get off the computer, now, tidy up, then get ready to go out. We are heading into Orlando today. At least that was the plan the other day. Things change.

I still haven't done the 2008 U.S. taxes

It's funny, with ufile in Canada, they would send me an email each, say Jan/Feb and say hey! if you pay for your return now we will give you $5 off. So I would pay early and get the discount...very nice.

Here, with Turbo Tax I get an email like last week - get your return completed before March 29th because our prices are going up

What are you going to do in Orlando?

Well, I'm rather charmed that Revenue Canada has seen fit to re-assess my past two years of tax returns, but has not seen fit to send me any forms to file for this year's.... so I am forced to make an effort. icon2.gif

Our main goal in going to Orlando is to go out for dinner. So if we're going out for dinner, might as well do some shopping. LOL. Plus I thought I'd pop in somewhere to pick up a Vonage box so I don't have to pay the shipping fee. Guess I should do a search on where to pick up Vonage boxes.
