I just got off the phone with NVC. The guy said that we still don't have a date. He said they stop scheduling interviews second week of every month, which is today. I wonder what is going on? My case was completed on 11-18.

It could be that the embassy is already booked for January and that means you will have to wait until the first two weeks of January to see if they scheduled your interview for February. But I would call them again on Monday to find out if they did scheduled you today, just in case. And also ask why it has taken so long if your case was completed back in November.

Good luck!

Diana

The interview schedual is shown on thier web site. It isnt unusual to encounter the situation you have simply because they see more than 700 people every month.

yeah, i have a bad feeling about my CR1 case as well. I already got an interview date for K3, so worst-case scenario, I'll bring my wife over on K-3.

Surely your case will be complete and at the embassy by Feb. 11. You can just convert that K-3 interview to CR-1.

I was feeling the same way for long time. wanting some answers about Nov and Dec. Our case was completed in early Oct and was expecting Nov date, then Dec date, and finally got a Jan date. So you're not alone in the waiting game. This seemed odd to me...I took the PDF file from Nov and extracted all the dates/interviews,then sorted them in Excel. They started out handling a reasonable number of appointments in the first 10 days then it dropped to like 3-5 a day. The few Dec dates were odd also. I never compared the Dec file(it's on the embassy site right now). I got on the general CR1 forum just before Thanksgiving and someone said they were giving out Jan dates, so I called and they had just scheduled it. It didn't follow the normal 2nd week of the month guideline. So I don't know what's really going on there either. just my 2 cents worth of info...

Our interview date wasn't assigned until Thursday.

I wanted my husband here for Christmas so here's what we did. (I do not recommend this course of action as it was very risky and just happened to work out for us)

We scheduled an interview through the online site used for visitor visa interviews. My husband went to the clinic in Barbados to obtain a medical exam, which they would not give him since he didn't have an interview letter. He then went to the Embassy to try to obtain a letter for the medical, which again, they refused to give him. Instead, they gave him a copy of the Packet 3 documents for the K3 that they claimed they mailed to him in November (but he never received). They told him that he had to mail this signed form in stating that he had all of the required documentation, along with the notarized Affidavit of Support. They said that he could not bring the documents back to the Embassy.

When I arrived I went to the Embassy to inquire about dropping the documents off. Again, I was told that I could not do so. I then asked if I could get the Affidavit of Support Notarized at the embassy. I was told to return the next day at 11. When I returned the following day with the Aff. of Support, I had the signed letter from my husband, a cover letter, and photocopies of all the reqired documents with his case number printed on them. After my AOS was notarized, I asked if i could submit the completed package to obtain an interview date.

The package was accepted and the embassy called the clinic so that my husband could take his medical the following day. We picked up the medical results the day after and went straight to the embassy. Since we had no interview letter, we gave them a copy of the K3 letter he had received the first day. We were told to take a seat and wait for our name to be called. The embassy gave him his interview and approved his K3 visa.

Our plan is for him to return to Barbados for his CR1 interview. But he's coming home for Christmas on his K3. Thanks to God it actually worked out for us!!
