GRADUATION

I will be graduating tomorrow and the one person I wanted to be here for me, can't. I hate that we should be separated from our loved ones at the times that we need them the most. I talked with my husband yesterday and he was so sad to miss my right of passage. For those of you whose spouses have missed out on memorable moments because of this long process, I feel for you and hope that we can all get through this. Fill me in on what your spouses have missed, if you want? And how you dealt with it. Anything creative?

My husband missed the birth of our son. Of course the baby will not remember his father wasn't here but it was so hard going in for surgery and my husband sick with worry over 6000 miles away. You get throught it, just a hard pill to swallow.

Congratulations on your graduation!

Congratulations on your graduation. You should be so proud of yourself :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

 Congrats! I would have been graduating in May but I postponed it for a year. Part of that is because I want Waleed to have this experience with me even if it is the last year of college. The other part is I really do want him here at my graduation. There is more to it than that I just wanted to give ####### for tat on some of the things you touched on.

Though many special moments have passed dont let that get you down, focus on ALL the special & exciting ones you will share with Aziz very soon! Send him pics of the graduation & party to keep him connected to your day, he'll love it & you'll feel a little better too (L)
