Got a call from the Senator's aide this evening! What a nice guy! He is following our case all the way through! Have to say I've been real happy with this Senator on many issues and am really glad I voted for him! LOL!

He gave me some great advice and is going to send a letter to the embassy on our behalf - WOW, wasn't expecting that!

I had to "super" express mail the currently dated letter of intent today - I procastinated on it one week - and am hoping it actually arrives by next friday, maybe I should have went to UPS and "overnighted" it???

Still stuck to the ceiling and it has been over 12 hours since I got the news!

Hope you all get your christmas wishes!

don't worry, worst case scenario they approve pending the letter, and you get it to them afterwards.

yeah that is what I told him and I have a copy of the notarized orginal, was going to scan it and email it to him, copy is better than nothing! I think we have enough proof of ongoing relationship gathered from the last two+ years, so I'm not stressing about that anymore! :D

Now I just get to worry about him getting tongue-tied at the interview!

London did not ask to see a current letter of intent or any proof of an ongoing relationship of us. I hope it all works out for you as easily.

Congratuations on the pre-Christmas interview. You deserve some breaks.

Just spoke to him and he did NOT get the letter in the post today. I told him this is the busiest time of the year for the postal service, but if he didn't get it on Tuesday then he should call the embassy and request it to be sent by courier.

Looking for confirmation - this is the right thing to do, yes?

I had requested an earlier date and the Embassy gave me one and said they had sent an email out with the new date on it but it never arrived. If it isn't there by tomorrow you should definitely phone the Embassy or email (with the special code) and ask for another one.

thanks! I seem to need hand holding right now!

It is really funny the way this can make you feel like you haven't any intelligence or lack comprehensive skills!

Packet 4 arrived today! And he got the updated letter of intent yesterday! Yeah postman!!!!

Very comforting to know he has everything!!

We are going to play question and answer game this weekend. The only thing we are concerned about is the 6 week overstay in 2006. I was told by my attorney that it is no concern as it is under 180 days, and Steve was told by the person at the embassy they are only concerned about 60+ days, but all the same....

Background on that - he was over on a J1 visa sponsered by YMCA through a international soccer coaches company and after the camp was through the company asked him if he wanted come to New Orleans and coach here for a bit - that they would take care of an extension (you cannot extend a J1!) when the season was over, he called them to get the new departure dates so we could book the flights to England and this is when he found out he was out-of-status. We booked the flights and left immediately. Due to this he was denied the B visa to come visit me.

Should I worry about this??

Being denied a B2 visa won't have any impact on the approval of a K1. I dunno about the overstay, but you said so yourself that they might not be too concerned about it.
