I have received the letter sent from NVC indicating that I'll have the interview at Montreal Consulate on 01/27/09.

Is there an medical exam appointment letter expected to be sent? I know the place in Montreal for the exam. But I don't know I should go now or wait for that appointment letter (if it exists)

NVC provide the site www.immigrantvisa.state.gov for instruction. Somehow, I cannot access this page. Thanks

Hey, I'm not there yet in the process and I'm not even doing the same process as you, but I believe you have to book the medical yourself. I called the clinic myself in Montreal just to get info on the fees and delays and stuff. The receptionist was really nice and told me that one should MAKE an appointment a week prior to the interview date (at the latest) to make sure to have the results in hand for the interview. You could call them to make sure.

Good luck!

You do have to book the medical appointment yourself. After the appointment letter that you have received, you will not get anything else in the mail until after the interview when your passport and visa papers are mailed to you. If you don't have to travel a great distance for the medical, I would get it done and out of that way as soon as possible. This way if there are any issues, they can be resolved quickly without risking having to postpone your interview.
