India applicants - Packet 3 Questions

My petition was approved and has left the NVC and is expected to reach the Mumbai Embassy on Monday or Tuesday. My question is specifically for the packet 3. Can my wife download the packet 3 contents from the Mumbai Embassy website and submit to the Mumbai Embassy as soon as the case is received? Or does she will have to wait for the packet 3 forms to get to her via post? If you can please further advise on this, I'd greatly appreciate it. We are trying to aim for a January interview date and hence trying to see whatever we can do to help the process move faster. If the drop-off of packet 3 is possible, does she have to make an appointment?

CJ - Post this in South Asia forum and you will get answers within 1-2 days based on my previous posts. I would like to know this as well. I believe I have read that someone was able to drop-off Packet 3 after it was received at Mumbai. Not sure if its a good thing to wait till embassy mails out Packet 3 or must wait. My wife doesn't live in mumbai so am planning to use the courier service instead of her going personally to drop-off Packet 3.

Its a good idea to call the Consulate to check if your case has been receiven and then just download pkt 3 and submit it at the Consulate. Call up the NVC after 4-5 days to check if you have been given an interview date and just go and collect the pkt 4 too. Thats how I did it and saved a few weeks atleast. Mine was a K1 visa, but I don't see any reason that they will not let others do the same. Saves them the hassle of sending papers. All the best

Thanks Parul. My wife is going to Mumbai embassy tomorrow to drop off packet 3. I'll let you know what gives.
