for the 10 yr green card?

I try to be more clear: I'm in the process to get any time my 10 yr GC, but we never know if they might ask for a RFE, so if I'm in my country on vacation in April/May with my husband what do u suggest me to do accordingly to you personal experience?

I submitted the docs last October, I got my 1 yr extension, I got my biometrics done yesterday, so now I'm planning to go to my country on vacation next April & May.

What should I do if I don't have at that time the 10 yr GC? I wanna go to my country because I can go at that time, & I haven't been back for more than a year, so I wanna go.......... any tips/info/suggestions?

Tks so much guys as always for you replies. Good luck to everybody for our endless journey!!!!! :star:

The extension letter allows international travel.

Simply carry the expired green-card and extension letter for re-entry from a trip abroad.

Tks for yr reply, I do know that, but what's the best suggestion if while you are away in your country (& still waiting for the 10 yr GC) if they send you a "RFE' & you are away for over a month?

Do u suggest guys, to let Immigration know that I'll be away for a certain period of time, so at least they know that if I'm away I don't have the possibility to send whatever they require by RFE paper during that time(if they might require a RFE)?

That was my request, sorry maybe I express myself in the wrong way when I asked for a suggestion at the very beginning.

Tks again!!!!! :star:

All you can do is get someone to check your mail while you are away. USCIS will not put your case on hold because you are on vacation.

Follow TayRivers advice, have someone check your mail and if possible before you go on your trip leave a package ready for a possible RFE. They give you around 3 to 4 weeks to send back the RFE, and if your get an interview they let you know 2 weeks in advance. So keep this "timeframe" in mind before you go on your trip.
