Anna's interview is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST tonight (December 7), which is 7:30 AM Thai time on December 8.

(Of course, I doubt that she will be interviewed at exactly 7:30...)

No cell phones are allowed in the embassy, right? I think she has to leave it in her car and call me when she gets done...

Nothing to do now but wait... and clean my house.

Sigh... I'm supposed to be grading my MBA students' projects, but I can't concentrate enough to get them done.

I feel guilty, because I'm sure they want to know their grades.

Good luck to Anna!

At the BkK embassy, you can check your cell phone at security prior to going through the metal detector. They give you a numbered card and you pick up your electronics on the way out.

You've probably got about 12 hours to wait for the positive result. Grade those projects.

It took my kids over five hours at the consulate, so don't get too nervous too soon. I know that's pretty useless advice at this point.....

Best wishes her successful interview.

Thai Mom

It's a stressful time. Whenever I'm waiting urgently for something it seems like it takes longer than can possibly be expected. When my wife and daughter were in the interview, I knew it could be noon or a little after (their time) before I got a text message. I waited until half an hour after my late window and just couldn't sit around anymore. I took a walk for about 15 minutes. 10 minutes in, I got the text message, "We ok." Immediately I called to get the rest of the news.

Do all the papers graded AFTER your wife passes her interview get A's?

If so, I've got a few to send your way...

Good luck!!

I had to add that you near my grandmother, Sun City Center. I remember the days when Bradenton was all cattle ranches!

INTERVIEW COMPLETE! Anna was told to pick up her visa on the 11th!

They had problems getting her fingerprints and told her that she might need to come back for that... not sure if the situation was resolved yet because we could only talk for a minute and she had to hang up. I remember that the Thai police also said that it was hard to fingerprint her when she picked up her police report. The CO said, "Don't worry about it, some people are good in fingerprints and some people are good in smiles... you are good in smiles... :D

Haha... I better check them all again to be fair!

The local builder still keeps 3-4 cows on the undeveloped property (now surrounded by developments) to maintain farm tax status!
