I had someone helping me with filing the papers and everything for the K-3 visa! He was a immigration specialist William Zheng, well he did'nt do anything except mail the papers for me! I paid him $1,200.00. He did'nt even complete the package for me which was suppose to be included in the price according to our contract. The day before I was to pick it up he emailed me telling me to bring $800.00 for the package which was forms I sent him that the Embassy sent my husband! He made it sound to me like he had some special package to get my husband approved! It was all a scam I'm sure! Well I took it upon myself! I totally ignored him and went with my heart and did the package myself I mean who knows my husband and I better than me right? I wish I would've known this $1,200.00 ago! Well everyone everything worked out great thank God! My husband's visa has been issued and he will be here next week! The only reason I decided I wanted someone to help with the papers in the first place was because I did'nt want to mess anything up! The so called immigration officer did'nt contact me to tell me status on my case or anything he just called me to collect money and told me that he could stop the process from progressing if I did'nt make payments! Because I told him I did'nt feel comfortable anymore paying him since he is not doing anything! He still has not called me and has copies of all the papers that he sent our for me! Now that my husband will be here next week I will take him with me to the office and attempt to pick them up! I did'nt go before to get them because I just wanted to focus on getting my husband here first!

Does anyone have any advice at this? Can I report him? Can he give me a hard time to give me my paperwork back? Is that legal?

So anyone please help me and tell me the best route to go for his next steps when he gets here!

What papers need to filed, How does he get registered to work, etc.......?

Thank you so much! God Bless!

I'm not familiar with the K-3 process, but for us, the only paperwork we needed after my fiance arrived here was the NOA2. When my attorney received the NOA2, I had her email me a copy of it for my records because I knew it was necessary for AOS. However, if you do not have a copy of it, then your attorney might not send you the NOA2 without paying the rest of his fees. If you owe him $800, it would be cheaper for you to just pay the $340 fee to get a new copy of the receipt from USCIS (form I-824). There we no other documents that I needed from my attorney for AOS. Check to see what is required for you.

Many of us here at VJ have hired attorneys and regretted it. When a newbie solicits advice for attorneys, those of us who have had terrible experiences try to inform them that they would be happier doing this process themselves if their case is straightforward. There's enough stress with this process without having to worry about if a third party (attorney) is giving their best effort to return docs in a timely fashion as well as keeping you updated throughout the process. You only end up in the end wishing you had did it yourself.

Good luck with the rest of your journey and congratulations on your approval.

Thanks for the information! He is already paid off and I have the copy of my check payment to him with pay off written on it that he cashed! He was trying to pull a fast one on me! I have the contract and it says nothing about an added fee! It was only for 1200 thanks! take care
