STUCK @ NVC for AP

HCM is a tough consulate and they are looking for LOTS of proof of a valid relationship. But, we made these plans because we want to marry someplace special and if you want to marry in Vacationland on an island in the summer, you have to plan and book ahead!! The fact that she will have our plans to describe to the CO is a bonus.

Todd, thank you for info.

Please add my information NOA1 in November sent out on 12th received on 20th then long wait for NOA 2 arrival on march 7th sent to NVC and received by NVC on march 15th ----still in NVC. 35 ish days later .. i would not have even known except that i got worried because Carla never received a packet to start on for interview. I called Peru first because i received a letter saying it passed through NVC and was sent to them. Well truth is it was never sent and is sitting in a pile of other people's packets waiting on something they are not allowed to tell me about. I feel we are blessed to have a system set up to help us get our loved ones over here and still keep a safe country to live in but OMG please can we fix it a bit better???? there are so many people involved in this it seems impossible for me to even guess on a day that i could be happily married in the U.S.A. . We thought we were through the rough part boy were we wrong. ANYONE WHO HAS ANY INFO PLEASE CONTACT ME DIRECTLY.... chefdino71@hotmail.com

Sorry to hear that you got stuck too.

It's happened to many of us of late.

The good news: (1) it does end, so hang in there just a little longer (2) you've now found a community of us who have all banded together. Welcome aboard!

If you check the List in my signature, you'll see yourself in the "K1 Still Stuck at NVC" section, along with all the others with similar timelines on VJ. That should help you gauge when you are likely to get released. Releases seem to be occurring at the 30-50 day interval, so I would guess you'll be out within the next two weeks. Good luck!

Sorry your stuck in AP. You have come to the right place. We'd love to provide you with information, but unfortunately I am as mystified as to why I am in AP as you and everyone else is on this thread. Read the thread, take some comfort that you aren't alone, and that hopefully your NVC nightmare will be over soon.

Welcome to the thread. Sorry you had to arrive here. The only consolation I can give is that at some stage you will ring the NVC and they will say it has been sent to the embassy. Nobody stays here indefinitely however the wait is frustraing.

Ha ha.....yup. Just recieved the same response. Except this time I talked to a very nice lady called angie who was actually sympathetic, apologised for the delay and could tell me the date on which we went into additional processing, something they wouldnt tell us either of the times we called before.

March 16th - the fateful day that NVC held my petition hostage.

I think i'll make monday's my day to call too. I hate monday's so I may as well recieve horrible news on that day than any other.

Sorry you are stuck, but welcome to the family. You are in good company here! And because you are at 35 days already, you don't have more than a couple of weeks to wait. :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
