Hey all

I just talked to my fiance and his experience sounded different than anything I've read. Actually I think I did read a similar case here on VJ and I'm probably going to spend my whole day on VJ trying to remember where I saw it.

He was the ONLY K-1 male there interviewing today! The rest were all women beneficiaries!

He was one of the last ones, and he had the Asian interviewer and they talked and she asked him a lot of questions, and he answered. But in the end, she gave him the 221 g (expected) but no word on approval. The "Other" X marked box said that they will review the evidences and contact him. And that's what she told him, that she will call him.

They kept our 2 binders of chats and emails!!! I had also slipped in the binder letters of support from friends and family, ring receipts, emails of our discussion on how much to spend on the rings, emails from my mom to him....so guess they'll be seeing those too. Gosh I never thought they'd even look at that, but now I'm glad I took the time to include all that in there, since they'll be spending time looking at it. They didn't keep the pictures, although she looked at them and he told her stories like our adventure in the desert. He told her about the baby names we've picked out for out future kids, etc....She seemed to be pleased with everything, but she said she needed time to review the evidences.

I'm not totally freaking out, because I know I read something similiar here on VJ, where someone had the Asian lady and she kept the evidences. I don't think any of the other CO's do that, just her. Seems she likes to take more time before making a decision. So now I just have to find that post.

I guess it's not the worst. But it's not what I expected and since I hadn't anticipated it, I didn't warn him about it and he's seriously bummed now. I was giving him a pep talk saying that I'm sure it's fine, that it could be worse and he could have been flat out denied without them looking at ANY of the evidences. Or worse, the petition returned. But that's not what happened.

Ok....deep breaths. I'm trying not to freak yet. If anyone remembers that CO interview I read about, let me know! I'll be looking for it.

It is more positive than a denial. I know it wasn't the outcome you wanted, but in light of some of the things that embassy does, it is better than what they could have done.

It might just be a matter of a few days and he is called!

eta: She probably saw all the good reading material and just couldn't resist a peek into the love story of you two. Sounds like you prepared a good petition and I'm sure she will call him soon.

Oh how frustrating! Well I agree with everyone, it's better than a flat out denial! I guess wait a week and call DOS to see what the true status is?

Hi Star Dragon,

Congrats for finishing the interview...

Yes, i remember the post you are referring, too... although i don't have a free moment to search through VJ MENA. Sorry for that! (It wasn't that guy Abdo, was it?)

But i think your experience sounds postive. It's okay if they keep the evidence to review it further... i've heard of them doing that before. What's important is that she seemed respectful to your SO and that she issued the standard 221, which almost everyone gets... With any luck she will be calling your SO to come back w/ his passport in a week or so... inchallah!

Good luck! (F)(F)
