Recent I-130 Approvals (Nov. /Dec.) - NVC Process

I am getting nervous. They received both the AOS and Packet IV on friday, at least that was when they scanned it in their system. They received them a few days earlier. Every time I call them, they give me the same answer which is that the case is under review and that it takes 2-4 weeks. From what I have seen in this thread, people are receiving case complete withing a few days. Should i be worried?

You should not worry... It does take a few days for the review to get completed... some are faster than others.... The only thing I do recomend... is to call NVC EVERYDAY... and ask for status... they will give you the same answer.... but this is the only way you will catch an RFE ON TIME.... if it does occur.... From the day I sent my AOS and DS-230, to the day I got a case complete... there were 12 days.... This includes an RFE that was a mistake on their side... I knew about this RFE on a thursday and it took until the next monday to clear it up... They were requesting a document that was NOT needed.... so the result of this RFE was that I was right.... I did not have to send the document.....

I thank God I called EVERDAY.... evn though many times I got very frustrated with their standard answer (wait 4 to 6 weeks.....)

Called NVC in the morning ..... AOS still under review and the DS230 has not been scanned in the system as yet......

I called NVC this morning about the status and the lady responded by saying we are in the final stages of having the case reviewed. Hopefully I will get a case complete soon.

Just called NVC again and my case was completed today!!! I am so happy that the process is almost over. Now i have to call back for an interview, the operator said to call the 2nd week of February.

I just came back from the IRS office, I had my W7 , the sworn statement and a photocopy for my wife's passport plus my complete 1040 form. the lady said they need to see her actual passport. even a notarized copy is not acceptable. she said if I have the Notarized copy of her pasport I only can send the forms by mail. but, even if I get a certified copy of her passport and I mailed all these form, what would be left for me to sent it to NVC? I was hoping to get a copy of my submitted 1040 to send it to NVC.

I dont know what to do!! I was hoping that I can file Married filing jointly and get a 1040 copy to send it to NVC. I have everything ready (2005, 2006, 2007 transcripts) except my 2008 taxes. Please let me know what should I do to get this done with.

Thank God they finally scanned the DS320.....

Now I am just going to cross my fingers and pray really hard

I am a classic example of Murphy's law....

We got a ref on our AOS ...... NVC wanted the 2008 W2, but my hubby is positive that he had sent it with the package......

Anyways we are going to send it again......

Hard Luck...But I am learning to live with it.......

Did you file taxes for 2008 already? I have not yet filled my taxes for 2008 and NVC told me that I could send in 2007, 2006 & 2005 tax transcript.

Should I send 2008 W2?

I am planning to send following along with my AOS package:

• Tax Transcript from 2007, 2006 & 2005
• W2's from 2007, 2006 & 2005
• 1040 form all pages from 2007
• All pay stubs from 2008
• Employment letter from employer

Aman - I am surprised you have been asked for 2008 W2. they have clearly mentioned that until april 15, they will accept the stuff from 2007 and you do not have to provide 2008 docs.

I am currently the choice of agent for my wife and have paid the fees and gotten the barcode cover sheets. I realize i'm just a few days behind you in the NVC steps and was hoping to run something by you...

After you paid your AOS and IV bills online, did you or your husband get a package in the mail or did you just follow the instructions on the NVC website to submit the I864 and DS3032.

With the DS3032, did you end up send the original supporting docs (birth cert, marriage cert, etc) or just photocopies to the NVC?

I am just a bit confused if we should wait for something in the mail because I heard the procedure for docs submission for New Delhi embassy may be different.

According to the New Delhi embassy website, you can sbmit the originals at VFS office -- http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/packet4chlst.html)

Just a little concerned about sending something in before we should and taking the risk of sending it via Mail instead of taking care of it in person.

Also, on the AOS, you mentioned you received the RFE -- did you put in 2008 income on line 23 or 2007. Since i haven't received my W2 yet it makes it difficult to fill in in line 25 with 2008 income. I am just trying to avoid any potential issues.

I'd greatly appreciate your insight.
