Juss something on my mind. Part of what I wrote to my fiancé.

Not a prayer went by without mention of finding someone to share my life with. Others prayed for me also. But now their prayers are different. They pray for the both of us to be together.... Then the date was arranged for us to finally talk. I was so nervous I could not even eat that day. Eight hours went by & it still was not long enough. I wanted to talk to you all night! From that day forward you captured my heart. Then our long journey began.

I never knew distance would be our enemy. Or I did not prepare my heart for the heartbreaking moments. Certain calling cards for $5 would give us 12 minutes to talk. Or don’t include the times we talk and then dead air & we are cut off. The bad thing is the minutes are now lost. I’m on the computer a lot but you can’t afford the internet café. I’m happy that we can text. But it is very hard trying to have a conversation through a 160 character text.

Through text, things get misunderstood. There may be times I send you several text and you don’t receive them. It got so bad I had to number each text so you will know how many I was sending. Thank goodness for my unlimited text. To send a package to you costs so much & still takes a month to be delivered. While the package is in transit and passed from place to place we hope no one opens it and takes the contents. I dislike the invasion into our lives as I have to document everything we do. No wonder you call me your lawyer. I document 1. Phone calls 2. Text messages 3. Receipts from things I buy 4. Pictures I send you or you send me 5. Emails etc..

I know you are not able to help me with the cost & I understand why. Your love & encouragement means the most and that keeps me going. But God is on our side!! He is the only one we need on our journey. Because soon we will become a 3 fold cord (God, you & I). Ecclesiastes 4: 12 And a threefold cord cannot quickly be torn in two. The both of us will become as one flesh.

So my love our day will soon come. In the meantime we both need to pray! We need endurance, patience, to continue to grow together, and to be content. Our relationship is like no other. Many don’t understand it or support us. But were in this together and we owe nothing to anyone. God’s hands (as mom/mum) says was long enough to put us together. So will he leave us now? No!

My Naija King you are my everything!!! My heart belongs to you and no one else. I’m doing all I can to come to you (but also taking care of myself in the states). My love for you is strong & no one not even distance can take that away from us! I look forward to our new life, starting a family/ekru together & distance being a thing of the past!

A note on calling cards; they suck. They bill you in 3 minute increments and have all sorts of hidden fees.

Oh KK_Mine, I definetly know how you feel. Texting is the best but communication is so frustrating at times. I admire your strength. The other day I felt like giving up. I have soooo much stress here I just want to go home and talk to my honey but I find myself screaming at times...because he can't hear me. Or the call just won't go through. Or...he didn't answer cause he was asleep...because he's 6hours ahead! Ugh! It's like when you need him most he can't be there, even in the way you expect. Perpetual disappointment. Thanks to you ALL! for your comments & wishes to me/SO!!! I was having a bad day juss missin him and I wrote a two page letter (front & back) of things on my mind. As WE all know this is very hard. OUR emotions are up & down or mine are. I pray a lot! Because at times I feel I'm about to lose it. But VJ/YOU ALL have been a big & needed encouragement in this all & we thank you!

I told someone who said they read my letter and cried.. that I wish all this was over for he and I. But its still sad b/c when it ends for one it begins for another (and your heart goes out to them and their journey). Ours is right at the beginning.... My prayers are with you ALL!

It hurts me when I call and there is a bad connection and I have to hang up. B/c I know when I do there goes the min. Esp. on days I only picked up one calling card. The other day he & I were talking about something over text and it was not helping. He was not understanding me & I was getting upset. So I asked him should we leave this (meaning the topic) and juss wait until I can call? He said yes. B/c txt was making it worse!

Now one thing I do like he said he does not care when I call him no matter nite or day. So when I call b/4 work I may have to wake him up. But he does not mind. He said until we got together he did not keep his cell on when he was sleep. But now he leaves them on all the time for me. Now for our parents (his mom & dad) I make sure to call them a decent time and not at all hours out of respect.

Well its not like my strength is all that great! I have stressed to no end! My mom & co workers were getting worried about me. I would stress over the fact that we are not together & it was killing me inside. Not saying its easy but I'm trying to take a day at a time. I pray & cry etc.. Its esp hard for me as I have desired for so long to have the right person in my life. But then when I find him he is so far away! His country does not make it easy & seems to discourage you from wanting to enter that country (IMO). But I had to say you can't stress etc.. over something you don't have control over. It makes it even harder that he can't help me with $. I was working a second job and wearing myself out working 7days straight. So I quit the 2nd job and looking for something closer to home and trying to maintain my days off and work around that. As I need 'me' time.

I will let you know. Tel3 says the cost would be 13.5 cents per min. I was also looking in to Pingo I think they are a lot less. Well I just looked and they are 13.0 cents so not much difference. lol But if I do I will def. look out for you no problm. Thanks for info!

Plus I may at times feel so overwhelmed and frustrated.. I think to myself am I strong enough to do all this? To withstand the distance, the network, him not helping out $, the wait even after the marriage.. juss all the things I wrote about which is my imperfect side.. We are not perfect so we will have feelings like that. I feel at times b/c of the way I feel am I trying to give up on him/us? etc.. But then I snap out of it and pray & I catch myself. B/c by feeling that way it puts more stress on me, and also its like I'm doubting that God can help me. But here n there yes I feel like screaming as well. Ok well a lot. Have an open field anyone? lol

Plus when someone says things against our relationship I put it out of my mind as soon as I can. B/c their views if I dwell on them its not good to do.. That can cause doubts as well.. Hope someone understands what I mean..

Sometimes it shows up as private, sometimes it shows my number. I think it's because they have a huge network and different carriers. I've used Pingo too but they charge you 85 cents a month and I find their connection isn't quite as reliable. I also use VIP and haven't had any problems with them.

I know just how you feel, this waiting is so difficult. My fiance and I helped an acquaintance navigate through this whole process at the same embassy and he had his visa within three weeks. It took a few days after the fact but it caused my poor honey to have a bit of a meltdown. It's really hard watching other people get their visas in a blink of an eye but... nothing good is ever easy, eh?
