Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all the good wishes. Ya'll have my love and respect.

Ibrahim came online to tell me the details of the interview. He turned in his papers at the gate and waited. And waited. He was called to the window at 2pm. (if you have someone interviewing in amman, tell them to eat good before going in!)

He had an interview with 2 different men. The first asked questions about how, where, and when we met. He asked about my kids, then looked at pics of us here in America and read some of our emails back and forth. All standard stuff so far. Then the interviewer said he would have his colleauge talk to him.

The second man asked about HIM...where he worked, where he had travelled to, and why. Then came the expected AP slip. They will call when they want his passport.

Now to just wait for that call. Tag...star your it! :)

Congratulations Jackie. I am glad to see you are finally at the tail end of your journey.

Can I ask you a question about the interview? Just for personal interest, I was wondering if the fact that you have petitioned someone before came up in the interview.

He did not mention if the ex was mentioned. We discuss him as little as possible. It is on the petition that the ex got a greencard...and it is on the support papers because I had to claim I support him also. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr So he was the 800 lb gorilla in the corner of the room.

The interviewer focused alot on my life here--my job, my kids and my trip to Florida, how I got there and who paid for that trip. He did have to use the emails to prove we talked since his K3 approva in August. We did not have phone records as we both use pay as we go phones and the interviewer said he was aware of that issue. So he looked at the dates of our emails back and forth. (As backup, we had MSN chats also to provide if asked for more proof)

I am really glad this part is over. Time to relax and prepare. and learn to cook rice.

That was wise to address the ex A-hole in the petition. That is probably what saved a major hassle at the interview.

Now Jackie, seriously cooking rice is easy. I use Basmati (yummy) rinse it and drain well. Heat up small amount of oil in a no stick pan (important that is is no stick). Fry the rice in the oil for a very short time then I add water. The way I figure the water is kind of silly, but it works. When I add the water I make sure the rice is evenly distributed on the bottom of the pan. I stick in my index finger to the top of the rice. If the water is to the middle of my first knuckle it is just right. I boil it somewhere between Med to Med high. When it is almost done and the water is almost gone I put on a lid and let it cook an additional 5 minutes or so. Take it off the heat and fluff. Perfect rice!
