So my wife just got her drivers license in the mail last night. And right now at this very second, she is out on her own in my car for the very first time. She was very nervous this morning about going out on her own even though she has had her permit for almost a year. But i have to say, even though i know she can drive, I too am a little nervous now. I wonder if my car will come back home in one piece! :) I feel like a parent that just let their kid take off in the car for the first time. Luckily she is only going to the grocery store which is a drive she has done several times, so i dont think i have to worry too much.

Congratulations on the Drivers License. I know I will worry about my wife and my Truck when I turn her loose with it. She still has her permit, but it will expire soon I need to get her interested in driving again. God help me!!!!! :help::P

Clear the roads and put up the kids, new driver on the street.

I am afraid when my wife starts to drive, she will have a lot of people honking at her and giving her the one finger salute.

Been in the same boat. Took my wife to town and showed her places to park easily and leave easily. She walks to all her shopping spots just like in the Philippines. Makes for good exercise as pinay tend to put on lbs after arriving in the US. Probably because of junk food and serving large portions.

If you were my wife you wouldn't have any problem driving by yourself as I won't even ride with her. Just got the maximum insurance and turned her loose!

Thats sad. I tell you when I was tell in the PI 3 people taught me how to drive but I didn't learn how to drive at all even telling me that I don't have a future in driving. My hubby tried to teach me how to drive but he is so nervous when ever we are on the road already. Finally we decided to get me a drivng lesson that's when I learned how to drive with confidence and after that I practice with my husband. From that on I becpme more confident even drivng interstate.

Maybe you can get your wife a driving lesson.I know it's a bit expensive but its really worth it. Update us when she get her driving lesson.

I had to teach my wife myself as there are no driving schools on the island we live in. Only way I could do it was to chug a brew and take a couple valiums. Still ended up almost getting a divorce.

I don't know how good she drives now as I'm still in rehab from valium addiction! Last time I saw our car driving by the rehab hospital. Didn't see her as she is only 4' 10" . Did see someone hands on the steering wheel. Looked like her wedding ring on the left hand!!~

Congratulations :star:

I wonder why our husbands are afraid of us wives on the driver's seat?

I had to enroll in an Adult Driving School because my husband's nerves are always on the edge when I'm behind the wheel.

How long did you wait for the license card to arrive in the mail? I passed my behind-the-wheel exam last Nov 3, 2008. I haven't received the card yet.

Don't worry about your wife, sometimes being alone makes us [all wives behind the wheel] more confident about things we do. We need to be independent from time to time. :)

Give us a break, will you husbands?! :jest::jest::jest:

I can tell you why. Because right after my wife got her permit, she crashed the car in a ditch. Then to make matters worse, It started raining while i was waiting for a tow. :(
