I-129 F - K-1 Submission

Hi Everyone, am an Aussie engaged to an American, and we are close to completing our documentation and submitting our package for my Alien Fiance Visa for me to move to the States and marry, having read all the information, have not come across anywhere that asks for details about my financial standing, i have Superannuation funds and property would it be pertinant to list these and submit with my initial application just in case?

It is only the US citizen that needs to provide any financial information, or whoever will be the co-sponsor if the US citizen does not have enough income to be the sponsor.

The immigrant's financial information is never asked for.

Thank you Raymaga.. i did ask as my love has just been given full Disability due to a motor cycle accident over 25 yrs ago, a very good friend of ours in California has offered to be our Sponsor/Affidavit of Support is we deem necessary, would you suggest we get her to complete the Affidavit of Support and submit with the initial I-129F package or have her get it ready in case they ask for it after we submit the package?

Your petitioner will still be the primary sponsor so each will provide an I-134 with supporting documentation. This is not done at the time the petition is submitted. They'll send them to you to carry to your visa interview. Please see the step by step guides here.

You do not need the I-134 until the interview phase.

Once you get approved, you can start the paperwork at that time for the Aff. of Support. You can figure out if you will need a co-sponsor or not by checking the Poverty Guidelines on the USCIS website to see if your fiance earns enough to be your sponsor, without the need for a co-sponsor.

Thank you both for your replies, i thank heaven for this website it has given me much needed information that cannot be found elsewhere and personal experiences and comments have been invaluable, my fiance and I are both anxious to be together since his trip down here to Australia this past 3 months to meet all my family, but we realize its one step at a time, thank you so much for helping to make our journey to be together just that lil less stressful..
