visit time

I am a school teacher and this summer was the first time I visited my fiancee.

I left the US on July 2 2008 and returned on the 9th. The visit was short for the reason that I had to return due to work related responsibilities. I recently consulted an immigration lawyer who thought that he could get an approval, but thought the short ammount of time we spent together could be a problem. He thought I might need to take another visit to satisfy the possible skepticism of the embassy or the UCIS. Has anyone got any insight in to this or suggestions. He did say though, that it might not be a problem. I would appreciate any insight in to this possible. :innocent:

You've got lots of time to learn and read the experience of others but yes, I'd plan another trip to the PI if I were you.

It would be beneficial if you arranged a longer visit to the Phils. The folks at the Embassy have learned to be very very skeptical about the fiance process.

Old Dominion,

Though you have said this in all earnestness and I do agree, it really tickled me. The bit about how Embassy folks have learned to be very very skeptical.

Yes, it is likely that it was a learned trait; I could only imagine myself as a beginning CO, "Oh you two look so beautiful together, here's your visa!" "Isn't that a great story! Here's your visa." But all it would take were a few less-than-genuine cases to begin questioning, "How of those others might have been fraudulent?" Then I'd be 'bad cop' "So tell me exactly where you were standing when he first said 'hello.'" "Wait a moment, I thought you said it was only 23 days!"

Thank you for the laugh.

As far as the requirement to petition for a fiance visa, you have fulfilled it so you can apply however, it would be a good idea to visit your fiancee in PI for a longer duration before the interview coz thats when the CO will be questioning her about your relationship.

Best to make another trip. You may have to if your fiancee is denied anyway. I didn't first time and was denied for lack of bonafide relationship.

Be sure and take pictures of you, fiancee and his family with you guys.

You guys have to do one better than the scammers. I don't imagine the fakes [paid for] spend a lot of time there or make more than one trip.

Yeah some get away with one short trip. Not worth wasteing 6+ months processing and then get denied.

No guarens either way tho. Just try and put yourself in the COs position.

More ammo the better. That's what we did the second time.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

My fiance was only here for 5 days 4 nights in Philippines. We didnt encounter problem. I was approved during interview . His visit was short because of his Job too. I was not even asked why his visit was very short. You will be fine. SHe has 90 days enough time to spend w/ u in US to lknow more about each other whenever she gets approved. Don't use Lawyer unless your case is complicated. They will only delay the processing.
